About the Author

Paul Parkinson

Paul Parkinson was born in 1943 in Washington DC. His early years were spent in Northern Virginia. Upon graduation he joined the Army Reserves in 1961. Returning to Virginia he met and married his wife Ann in 1967. He spent the majority of his professional career as an independent manufacturer representative in the furniture industry. Prior to retirement he served as a director of sales and marketing in the aviation industry. After his retirement in 2008, he pursued his lifelong interests for cigars, and writing. His passions for cigars led to opening Shades of Havana, (a cigar boutique), with his sons. His appetite for writing has led to the publishing of his first novel, (with his co-author), “The Sumerian Enigma”. Paul and Ann are presently living in Surprise Arizona. Paul and Jeff are presently working on book two.

H. Jeffrey Lewis

H. Jeffrey Lewis was born 1961. He majored in Journalism at Iowa State University and after serving as a journalist in the United States Navy, he moved to Washington D.C. in 1988. There he spent the majority of his professional career as a technical writer working for various agencies in the Washington metropolitan area. After relocating to Phoenix in 2009, he has spent the past five years focusing on ghostwriting for various projects ranging from self-help to autobiographies. A chance meeting with Paul at Shades of Havana led to the discovery of a shared passion for cigars and a lasting friendship. Much of his last two years were devoted to working with Paul in pursuit of another shared passion, the publishing of their first novel, the Sumerian Enigma.
