Welcome to Mission, Massachusetts. Praying won't save you, but it couldn't hurt.

Claire is an alternative girl looking for an alternative. Her post-college prospects have fizzled and she's looking for a new job, a new town, a whole new life. A summer position at a remote hotel may be just what she needs.

Very soon, though, she begins to suspect the hotel may have decidedly sinister motives. At the same time she falls back into her old wild ways with the young people of the town, a radical group totally at odds with the sinister leaders of a local cult. Caught between two worlds, Claire has to plot her escape while spiraling deeper into a nightmare of ritual sacrifice and killer parties.

Editorial Reviews

From the Publisher
“I’m gonna venture a little prediction here: Adam Cesare is a Fango superstar in the making. Of all the new writers busting out on the scene, Cesare’s the young guy with the greatest encyclopedic gorehound know-how, blistering cinematic pace, unquenchable love of both fiction and film, and hell-bent will to entertain.”
—John Skipp, Fangoria

“The narrative may be a loving re-creation of very familiar stories, but there’s no denying the author’s technique. His pleasure with the details is palpable, particularly in describing the mayhem. Cesare is clearly talented.”
—Bookgasm on Video Night

“The best new writer I've read in years.”
—Nate Kenyon, author of Bloodstone

A killer cult sacrificing tourists in the woods? Count me in! This book is about a young girl who stumbles upon a backwoods small town cult during her summer job. I am a fan of all of Adam Cesare's work, but this was my favorite thus far. I could not put this book down and the suspense was subtle but built up over the course of the book. This book was great from start to finish- had a nail biting opening and what I felt was a fitting ending for the main character, Claire. Cannot wait to read his next book!
