Overview

THE SUMMER WEDDING is the second book in the fun and romantic "Married in Malibu" series -- a spin-off of Lucy Kevin's New York Times bestselling "Four Weddings and a Fiasco" series.

Jenn Fairhurst wants her Married in Malibu wedding cakes to be legendary. Her job baking sweet treats at the Southern California wedding venue means everything to her?even if she's not sure that she'll ever be able to love, or trust a man, again after going through a terrible divorce.

Daniel Brooker is an award-winning photojournalist who gave up his globetrotting career to become a wedding photographer after his wife passed away, leaving him as the sole parent to his son and daughter. After such a tragic loss, he never thought he'd be able to love again. Until he met Jenn.

Soon, Daniel is falling head over heels for Jenn and wants to show her what true love really is. But right when it looks like she might finally be ready to give love another try, her past comes back to haunt her. Will she be able to risk her heart again?

Lucy Kevin is the "sweet" pen-name of New York Times and USA Today bestselling author Bella Andre (who writes the #1 bestselling series about The Sullivans). Lucy Kevin books are fun, flirty and romantic?without the steamy scenes.

This is a very sweet romance with just enough reality twists and turns to keep you entrenched in the pages to the end. Despite some of the lyrics of "Let it Go" you won't be able to until you have finished. Sounds silly but once you read it to the end you will have a new reference point for that song! Great job with this one Bella/Lucy!! ARC copy provided for an honest review.

The baker and the photographer = a sweet treat I have read Lucy Kevin's Four Weddings series and was excited to be given an advance copy of this book to read and review. A new wedding venue has opened in Malibu (an extension of the Rose Chalet venue in the Four Weddings series) and Jenn is the master creator of wonderful and amazing wedding cakes for the venue. Jenn is nursing a broken heart after a messy divorce and has sworn off men. But she cannot deny the tingles and the sparks she feels whenever Daniel, the photographer at the venue, walks into the room. Daniel is a widower with two children and he never expected to fall in love again. But he too feels the chemistry between him and Jenn. When Jenn is chosen to bake cakes for a photo spread for Brides magazine, Daniel volunteers to help photograph her creations as well as chronicle(in photos) the process she goes through to create them. This puts them in close proximity to each other and means that they will be working closely with each other. Can Daniel break down Jenn's barriers and get her to let him into her life? Will Jenn finally put her failed marriage behind her and move on? You will have to read the book to find out. This is a quick read... once you start you will not want to put it down until you find out if Daniel and Jenn find their HEA. Looking forward to the next installment!

This is a lovely and sweet romance and I’m a big fan of romance in general but to get a sweet book which is more focused on romance rather than angst and so much drama. The characters in this book have their very own definable character and personality which is so needed. They’re complex in their own right and you can identify with each of them. I fell in love with Jenn and she made me feel so much for her. There is this connection with her and her co workers that makes me smile. They have each other backs and this development makes this story so much fun to read. I tend to be fussy lately about what I read but this book? Amazing, fun and sweet. I cannot actually ask for more than that. The book is engaging and you want to keep reading. I need more and I’m so excited for the next one, because I can’t get enough of this author’s words. So beautiful and precious. Just absolutely perfect. 5 stars

When we first were introduced to Daniel and Jenn in The Beach Wedding (Married in Malibu, Book 1), the sparks between them are definitely there. Their story is sweet and heartwarming. While Daniel is all in from the get go, Jenn is more gun shy. I loved the way their relationship grows and develops. I just wish the story was longer, therefore, allowing for more depth and character development. Overall, it is still a good story worth reading.

Lucy Kevin really knows how to write a very sweet romance!! She has yet to disappoint me! This is another story set at the Married in Malibu wedding planning company and is a second chance at love for both our hero and heroine. Daniel is a widower with two children under age 10, Kayla and Adam, and he is the photographer. Jenn is a sweetheart and divorced from her cheating ex and she is the baker. They have been friends since they started working together there but Daniel now finds himself in love with Jenn. He never thought he could feel this way again. He is afraid to scare her off though because of her past relationship so he keeps it to himself for a while. Jenn has feelings for Daniel too, but she is afraid to give in to what she is feeling because she does not want to get hurt again. So they tiptoe around their attraction for a while, which is a great buildup. Daniel is so kind, sweet and supportive of her and her creative abilities with the wedding cakes she makes. They make a great team at work. Jenn’s ex was not the least bit supportive of her baking at all. He was so full of himself and a real tool. Daniel is also a wonderful father and that is a huge attraction for Jenn. His children really like her and the feeling is mutual. She is so good with them. The kids try their hand at matchmaking and it was definitely successful! So I highly recommend this book, because sometimes you just want a nice, sweet, emotional, romantic love story without all the heat.

SUMMER WEDDING is the 2nd book in the "Married in Malibu" Series by Bella Andre, and Lucy Kevin. We meet Jenn who does wedding cakes, and her goal is wanting to make them legendary. Daniel is a photographer, who makes her cakes the beautiful creation they are. Truth is a key importance for him, and knowing about Jenn's ex, he applauded her for leaving. Also, her ex was a personal trainer, and didn't understand someone wanting to make cakes. Daniel and his 2 children love cupcakes, can he get Jenn to give them a chance. Every time he sees her, he loves her more. A delightful read, everyone will enjoy another story by Bella and Lucy. Given ARC for my voluntary review and my honest opinion.

"The Summer Wedding" is written by Lucy Kevin, and it is the 2nd book in her Married in Malibu series. It can be read as a stand-alone book. It features baker Jenn Fairhurst and photojournalist Daniel Brooker. Jenn is a baker at Married in Malibu. She's been hurt in the past. Her ex-husband cheated on her and made her doubt herself when it came to living out her dream of being a cake baker. He also made her weary of finding love. Daniel is the photographer for the same place. He's a widower with two adorable young children. His children will make you smile! Jenn and him have been working together for awhile now, and even though they admire each other and have a strong attraction towards one another, they're afraid to make that first move. But things change when Daniel's kids decide to play matchmaker and when an opportunity to be featured in a well-known magazine makes them work closely together. Will they find their happily ever after? This is actually the first book I've read by Bella Andre's other pen-name Lucy Kevin. It was a quick read, and it was a nice, sweet story! If you want a heartwarming story, this is it!

This is the first book I have read from Lucy Kevin. I am hooked!! I now have a new author and series to love!! It is a sweet romance. It is her second book set in the Married in Malibu wedding planner company. This is a second chance at love for Daniel Brooker and Jenn Fairhurst. Daniel is a photographer and widower with two children. Jenn is divorced and the baker at Married in Malibu. At first, they are just friends working together. Daniel starts to have feeling for Jenn but doesn't want to scare her off because she had a cheating ex-husband. Jenn starts to have feeling for Daniel but is scared to get hurt again. She knows he is a good man and father but is not sure she wants to put her heart on the line again. A sweet emotional romance begins to blossom and the kids help them to overcome the obstacles standing in their way. Hopefully, this will be enough to convince them to take a second chance on love? It is truly one of the sweetest romances I have ever read! I highly recommend this book and look forward to reading more books from this author!!

The second book in the Married In Malibu series, is just as amazing as the first.. Following the family at the Married in Malibu wedding planners. This beautiful story follows Jenn, a beautiful wedding cake baker.. And Daniel the sexy, widowed, single dad and resident photographer... Who falls hard for Jenn,, but knows that if he tells her too soon, he could scare her away.. She's been married before, to a cheating, selfish, scumbag.. She moved to Malibu to start again... Their story is so beautiful, it takes your breath away...

This is my first Lucy Kevin read, and I must say I absolutely loved it. It's a different style writing than her Bella alter ego, a softer sweeter side that I really enjoyed reading. Jenn and Daniel were sweet to read about, and it was kinda hot to see Daniel go all alpha in defending Jenn against her kinda psycho ex. I would definitely recommend one clicking this

ARC copy for honest review with no compensation, Married in Malibu series is a sweet second chance friends to lovers romance. Another sweet and heart filled romance, another great book by Lucy Kevin. Daniel, the photographer whose wife passed away and father to two children and Jenn, is divorced from a cheating ex-husband and the baker who both work at Married in Malibu and all-inclusive wedding venue. They both are attracted to each other but have been hurt badly and do not want to open their hearts to anyone. Working together and the attraction getting stronger, Daniel decides to tell Jenn how he feels but Jenn doesn’t believe it will work and tries to keep their relationship as friends only. Will Daniel be able to show Jenn the HEA second chance love can happen for her and she has nothing to be afraid of or will Jenn run away from it and end up lonely???

This is the first book I have read by Lucy Kevin and I really enjoyed it. This was a super sweet romance between two co-workers. Daniel is the photographer and Jenn bakes for the company they work for. The story begins quickly because Daniel and Jenn already know each other. I enjoy romance books where the love happens without all the angst and this book did that. My only problem with the book is that was short, I would have loved to have read more about about Daniel and Jenn. I look forward to reading the next books in this series.

"The Summer Wedding" (Married in Malibu, Book 2) by Lucy Kevin (Bella Andre) is a wonderful read. I enjoyed reading about Jenn and Daniel. This story is a fun, sweet romance. This series has romance, interesting and entertaining characters, happily ever afters, and more. I'm looking forward to seeing what happens next in "The Barefoot Wedding" (Married in Malibu, Book 3). Another winner from Lucy Kevin (Bella Andre). Highly recommend to all fans of romance.

Oh, Lucy Kevin, you did it again! I loved this story! Both main characters loved and lost and thought they would never want to find love again. This sweet story tells how we can all find love, despite our pasts.

While I have always enjoyed previous Lucy Kevin books in the past, this storyline seemed a little rushed for me. Jenn and Daniel have a working relationship when the book begins and he's really half in love with her before it starts. His kids seem to be in love with her, too. It takes her a little bit longer to come around, based on being burned in her former marriage, but she's already feeling the feels of attraction right off the bat, too. I understand it's a sweet romance, so we won't be having any sexy time scenes, but they didn't even really date..unless you count hanging out with his kids. And while I know trying to date with children in the picture may present it's share of potential issues, there wasn't even a smidge of resistance from the kids. I guess what I'm saying is, besides the nuttiness of Jenn's ex-husband (and boy, he's a loon), there wasn't really any conflict to keep me engaged in the story. It was nicely written, the characters were lovely, but there was no spark for me. Still an enjoyable read and those who do not want sex in their romances will be happy. I just wanted a little "more".

A very quick, sweet romance. Jen and Daniel were cute together. I also liked the scenes with Daniel's kids. I wish this book had been a little longer. I did feel like I was missing something from the story. I know Jen was divorced and Daniel was widowed. I know they met on the job. They fell in love. It wasn't instalove, but it seemed really fast. It was an enjoyable read that ended much too soon. I voluntarily read and reviewed this Advanced Reader Copy.

This is a very Sweet Second Chance at Love Romance proving that sometimes people are lucky enough to find it more than once in a lifetime. Both are so in their own little worlds just trying to move on and get by they don't even see the other coming. I love the way the author takes you into this destination wedding location and makes the people involved come alive. Very fun and entertaining read. Looking forward to visiting for the next wedding.

The Summer Wedding by Lucy Kevin.....What a sweet perfect read, it was like eating your favorite cake, you digest it and love every taste. Daniel lost his wife and does not think he will ever find another woman to love again. Jenn had a terrible marriage not sure she will be able to trust a relationship again. I love seeing this story unfold such a beautiful love story. I voluntarily reviewed an advance reader copy of this book.

I loved this book. All of these books are great but there was something about how this came together that was so good. I can't wait for the next story. The love stories are always to believable. My only complaint was the story wasn't longer.

Jenn Fairhurst is starting over after her divorce. Baking wedding cakes for Married in Malibu is her dream job. Jenn loves everyone she works for and is drawn to Daniel Brooker. Daniel Brooker is a widower with 2 young children to raise after his wife passed away. He never thought love would find its way to him again but one look at Jenn and he was done for. Now to convince Jenn that he is worth the risk and she can take a chance on love again and on him. Two lost souls who find each other and finally figure out they are exactly what each other needs to be complete.
