Barnes & Noble - William Pearl
Over the past few years, actor John Lithgow has carved out a very successful niche as a children's music artist. And if any celebrity was born to this second career, it's this affable entertainer, who understands that the key to connecting with kids is never condescending to them. Assisted by some A-list collaborators, including singers Madeleine Peyroux, Maude Maggart, and Sherie Rene Scott, as well as genial vocal support from Seinfeld's Wayne Knight -- not to mention a very enthusiastic, and tuneful, children's chorus -- Lithgow peps up familiar standards such as "Put On a Happy Face," "Pick Yourself Up," "Everyone Says I Love You," and the title track.
More unexpected, but equally delightful, choices also pop up, among them Jimmy Durante's theme song, "Inka Dinka Doo," "Be Human" culled from Betty Boop, and the Art Carney classic "Song of the Sewer." Lithgow brings zest and joyous involvement to it all. If this acting thing doesn't pan out, he can always fall back on making kids sing and dance.

This album is a great nostalgic trip down, memory lane...The children's chorus is super!
