Fantastic! A quick but comprehensive read.

I LOVED reading this book. It takes you through 37 significant Supreme Court cases, from Marbury v. Madison to Bush v. Gore. In other words, from the beginning of the Court to (almost) today, covering free speech, policing, separation of powers, and other major issues decided by the Court. It's organized one chapter per decision. For each decision, there's a quick synopsis of the facts of the case, a review of the Court's decision and often the dissenting opinion, and a discussion of the greater impact of this case on society and the nation. It's an absolutely great way to get a first pass at constitutional law in a quick and easy, yet well-thought and insightful read. It should be required reading for anyone who wants to understand the rights we are afforded by the Constitution as it's been interpreted by the Supreme Court. I'm recommending a class based on this book be included in our high school curriculum.
