Besides relying upon their own keen knowledge of Hatfield family history, Dr. Coleman C. Hatfield, great-grandson of Devil Anse Hatfield, and Robert Y. In this unique work, The Tale Of The Devil, you will find the first biography of Devil Anse Hatfield, of the famed Hatfield-McCoy feud, taken from rare family history, newspaper archives, and journalistic research. Some folks in the past have called "Devil" a bloodthirsty savage, an uneducated hillbilly, or the leader of a nineteenth century dysfunctional family. Today, discover the real truth about Devil Anse. Run with the Devil ...discover what the family patriarch's childhood was like; read about him during his Civil War years; find out what was really behind the feud killings. Take a look at what went on during the post-feud years -- after the fighting and killing subsided. Analyze the logic, motives, and circumstances behind the hundreds of tales that have been told about the "boogerman." Learn the impact the feud has had upon the entire Southern West Virginia-Eastern Kentucky region. Then, and only then, can you decide who the legendary Devil Anse Hatfield really was.

    Good biography about a legend

I believe that Devil Anse was the first true Rock Star! He had his own rebelious way about him, and he took no bunk. Devil also seemed to have a heart, which was demonstrated in the most unusual situations. This was a really cool book.
