Overview

The world's greatest assassins are on a high-risk mission for the President—but a powerful mastermind wants them dead in this #1 New York Times bestselling thriller.

The President knows it's a perilous, high-risk assignment. If he gives the order, he has the opportunity to take down a global menace, once and for all. If the mission fails, he would face certain impeachment, and the threats against the nation would multiply. So the president turns to the one team that can pull off the impossible: Will Robie and his partner, Jessica Reel.

Together, Robie and Reel's talents as assassins are unmatched. But there are some in power who don't trust the pair. They doubt their willingness to follow orders. And they will do anything to see that the two assassins succeed, but that they do not survive.

As they prepare for their mission, Reel faces a personal crisis that could well lead old enemies right to her doorstep, resurrecting the ghosts of her earlier life and bringing stark danger to all those close to her. And all the while, Robie and Reel are stalked by a new adversary: an unknown and unlikely assassin, a woman who has trained her entire life to kill, and who has her own list of targets—a list that includes Will Robie and Jessica Reel.

Interviews

This upcoming year will be a busy one for me; I hope you'll join me for the ride. First out of the gate, in February, I'll be publishing an ebook-only short story that will bring together characters from arguably my two most popular series. Titled "Bullseye," it will — I firmly believe — keep my fans on the edge of their seats. I love it when TV shows that I enjoy allow actors to "cross the stream" and appear in other related shows, and I think it works just as well with books.

Then, in March, comes "The Finisher." I've written for younger audiences before, but nothing like this. This is a pure fantasy novel that is the first in a series. Vega Jane is my teenage heroine and the world that she lives in is totally original and will take my fans places they've never gone before. I haven't been this excited about a book since my very first novel. I am convinced that younger readers, teens and adults alike will enjoy this book.

We also have big movie news on this one. Months before its publication date, Sony/Columbia optioned "The Finisher" for feature film. They know it is the first in a planned series and their enthusiasm is very high for the possibilities. They have assigned Matt Tolmach, who produced the Spiderman franchise for them, to produce the Vega Jane series. Quite exciting.

And then, in April, comes the third installment in the Will Robie series (and the sequel to "The Hit"): "The Target." I once more bring back the team of Will Robie and Jessica Reel. Once colleagues, then foes and once again colleagues, they are put through their paces in this one. It's fabulous to have them back, together with fourteen year old Julie Getty and FBI Special Agent Nicole Vance. But I've also created a character in this novel that breaks new ground for me. And even though I love Robie and Reel, I think this character will be one readers will remember and talk about long after they've turned the last page. I love to be challenged with everything I write, and where this character took me was challenging indeed. I hope you will agree.

Also on the movie front, the feature film Wish You Well, based on my novel and starring Ellen Burstyn, Josh Lucas, and Mackenzie Foy, should be in theaters in 2014.

Lastly, I'll be back in the fall with a new novel, one that I am only right now beginning to create. Oh, what a wicked web we weave.

David
