    An Apocalyptic Condemnation of Modernity and its Falsities

    This book will change your views on modern societies'quest for Technical Utopia. Ellul brilliantly describes how the proponents of Technique or Technology have and would continue to gradually attack and co-opt man's traditional quest for transcendence and existential meaning in society. For a Technical Rationalism that corrodes and eventually destroys the historical consciousness of western society. As a consequence to this profound usurpation modern man would become a creature ever more dependent and victimized by the increasingly rational, totalitarian techno-beaurocratic state. NOTE>Ellul emphasized western society in his study but held that the changes would spread to other continents.
