With Priscilla¿s wedding plans destroyed by her fiance¿s murder,

With Priscilla’s wedding plans destroyed by her fiance’s murder, she continues her research in Egypt, digging for antiquities,
but locking up the vault of her heart.  Three years pass before a clue materializes that might solve the murder and offer Priscilla
closure, but it involves a big risk. She must be the bait to catch the perpetrator. That’s when Donnie steps in and tells her to trust him.

The rich details of the archeological dig along with the color of Cairo gave the story fascinating depth.  A great read!

The Tempering Agent is a great finish to Victoria Pitts Caine's

The Tempering Agent is a great finish to Victoria Pitts Caine's Christian Romance Adventure series.

We met Donnie in book 1, Alvarado Gold, then got to know him better in book 2, Cairo. The Tempering Agent is all about Donnie and Priscilla, an archaeologist whose fiance was murdered three years ago.

Now, Priscilla is caught in a sting operation to arrest an antiquities trafficking ring. Liz and Rahan from Cairo are back to help.

The Tempering Agent is full of romance, adventure, and suspense. I especially enjoyed the chapter epigrams about different gemstones and precious metals.

Victoria Pitts Caine's novel, The Tempering Agent, is a romantic novel set against the backdrop of Egypt. Dr. Priscilla Hackling is working with the police to find the murderer of her fiance, Trey Whittington. He was murdered by Zarka El Din, an Egyptian artifacts trafficker. During that time, she finds herself drawn to Agent Donnie Barnes, but she holds herself back from falling in love due to her past. But she realizes that that she has to reconcile with Donnie and work towards finding out the reason of Trey's murder before the Egyptian artifacts trafficker kills her, too. A blend of historical fiction and Christian romance, the archaeological theme makes a compelling story.

The book is a good read and the backdrop of Egypt gives it an exotic vibe which will expose readers to the art and culture of Egypt. The characters are well developed and the story has the right amount of action and romance that builds up the urgency of the plot effectively. There is a kind of richness associated with the settings and the plot that will keep readers glued to the book. The twists and turns in the story keep the suspense alive to the very end.

The archaeological setting is interesting and the subtle faith message is conveyed beautifully to readers. We are told about the Oasis in Siwa, protecting the ancient artifacts and gems. The plot has intrigue, information, romance, and good Christian message - all the ingredients of a good romantic suspense thriller! A very original theme packed with information and intrigue.
