A good read of history. Interesting, fast moving and very factual, but not boring or dry. Great insights to a time that many of us may not know much about. A great "I did not know that" book. Enjoy

If you want extensive in depth nitty gritty knowledge on the templars in a very small book, this is for you. Ive read book 4 times as long which in the title say they are writing about the templars and have found nothing nearand as on topic as this.
In every other book on the templars they go through a timeline of the crusades then mention where the templars fir into it.
This book mentions the policy, rules, member requirements (eg. only those who join as knights can be knights, other members of the ordr can be foot soldiers that travel with the knights, like squires and seargents.)
The actual crusading accounts that happen are only the ones involving the templars with less than a paragraph informing you what lead up to the occurance. It gos through the foundation, grand masters. How saladine used to imprison the captured but kill templars and hospitallers on the spot.
The author has a gift of staying on the point so well that all the facts come in through very short chapters, which most authors would take 3-4 of the chapters these size to cover as much ground
