About the Author

Paul Harrison, AIA, is the author of the books Where’s My Zen? and The Ten Paradoxes: The Science of Where’s My Zen?, written under the pen name Master Nomi. An architect by trade, Paul has had a passion for Zen for the past 30 years. He has studied both the practices of the ancient Zen masters and the latest medical neuroscience—and found they dovetail and support each other in amazing ways. With this knowledge, he created the Zen Advantage Program (ZAP) for the everyday person, distilling all this work into three clear, practical processes which can be applied to all areas of life: business, relationships, academics, athletic, and home.

Using these three processes—detailed in his seminars and book, The Ten Paradoxes: The Science of Where’s My Zen?—as the guiding principles for his life, Paul continues to build health, wealth, and happiness. You can, too!

I teach REAL Zen. I’ve done years of work that you don’t have time for—and probably don’t want to do! I discovered the tools of the ancient masters and intensely studied the latest neuroscience that supports their insights and techniques. From that knowledge came the Zen Advantage Program. This program can help you find Zen in your everyday life’s moments.

One day, as I sat looking at a lemon tree outside my window, and as my focus closed in on a bright yellow lemon, I suddenly realized the source. It happened in one moment of time! It hit me hard, like a kiss from a lover that gives you goose bumps and a twinkling sensation in the pit of your stomach. Some might say it’s like being kissed by God; others might say its realizing universal consciousness. Zen masters would say it’s realizing “Satori” or enlightenment. I smiled, then I laughed out loud—like a lunatic laughing at the comedy of life. This moment is now what I call “Lemon Consciousness.”

I found what I was looking for! I realized that the answer to our ultimate truth is not a secret written on a piece of paper and thrown into a raging river. I realized our categorical mind conceals the truth. The answer lies not in the river of our raging egos, but stepping outside of our ego to pure awareness. It’s that simple!
