Maggie H.
I had never thought about the what I would have to carry in a SHTF world before reading this book. Today, I carry a computer bag, purse and sometimes gym clothes. In a TEOTWAWKI situation, I may need equipment to survive and how to carry all of that around is an important preparation. Joe Nobody spells it all out simply for us non-military types. Another important concept was the integration of personal gear to our household's overall defensive plan. I didn't realize the connection until I read

I found this book to be very well written. It was easy to understand, yet was in-depth enough to adequately covers its subject matter. The concept of integrated carry systems is discussed in many other publications but not detailed. This book goes in-depth to examine the finer points. I would highly recommend.

If you want information about carrying the equipment you’d need during an “event”, this book will serve you well, particularly for those that would be looking at a SHTF bug out situation.

If you've ever wondered how you'd carry a bunch of gear in a survival situation, how to carry it conveniently, what to carry, how to have it readily accessible, etc., this book is the resource you want. It brings a lot of technical information down to average, everyday language and presents it well to the person unfamiliar with military-style technical jargon. It packages a pile of great advice. Two thumbs up.

I bought "Joe Nobody's" book Holding Your Ground and liked it so much I thought I'd check this one out as well. This book brings technical, military-style information to the civilian masses by describing technical, gear carrying methods mostly centered around the MOLLE system. While military examples are used, it's aimed at average, everyday people that want to learn how to have gear and equipment readily available on their body, how to carry it, what to carry, why, etc. I recommend this book as

Meet the Author

Joe Nobody (pen name for the author who wishes to keep his identity confidential) has provided systems, consulting and training for the U.S. Army, Department of Homeland Security, Office of Naval Research, United States Border Patrol as well as several private firms and government agencies which cannot be disclosed.

He is currently active in this area and for the security of his family and ongoing business, wishes to remain anonymous.

He has over 30 years of competitive shooting experience, including IPSC, NRA, and other related organizations. He has been a firearms instructor and consultant for over 30 years and holds the rights to a United States Patent for a firearms modification.

Joe initially became involved in helping private citizens "prepare" at the request of his students and clients. A conscientious instructor, he would always inquire as to why they wanted to learn certain skills or techniques and often the response was to prepare for more than just simple home invasion or self-defense. If you ask Joe what his greatest attribute is, he will tell you he is a "problem solver" and uses his formal education in Systems Engineering to this end.

"As the economy worsens, world tensions rise, and the modern media propagates bad news faster than ever before, more and more people want to prepare. I wrote HOLDING because it allows me to reach more of the good folks who are concerned about their security. I want them to sleep better at night knowing they have a plan of defense should the 'Event' ever occur."
