    Not for Newbies

This book is being used as a textbook in an undergrad, upper level Texas History class. And as a supplimet to a working knowledge of Texas history it is a good read. It is a collection of essays on various subjects that are relavent, but would not be in traditional text. However it the reader does not have a good grap ot the material, I fear that he or she would be somewhat lost.
