Really good story. Terrible editing errors.

This story was the type of suspenseful reading I enjoy. However whoever scanned this e-book did NO proofing on the content. There are HUNDREDS of errors that are obviously from scanning. For example, the word 'and' often is 'arid'. Many words get mangled that way. There are also lots of extra periods, commas and quotation marks. Obviously the result of poor scanning quality.

I enjoyed the STORY so much I kept plugging away through these numerous errors to finish it.

The hero, Richard Hannay is the seen as the model for many modern day spy heros. John Buchan is credited with helping create that genre. The setting for this book is a few years after the end of WWI and does have some stereotyping of classes and races that are not acceptable in today's world, but there not too much that you can't read around those concerns.

All of John Buchan's books featuring Richard Hannay have been very enjoyable reads. I would recommend them all if you can find versions that have fewer errors.

TLC Books needs to get it's act together. I am giving the STORY the high marks but want the buyer to beware the spelling/punctuation errors.
