    Awesome read!

Bought the book the day it came out, and could not stop reading! The action is intense and the characters are really interesting. I'm looking forward to reading the rest of the series when it comes out.

Bored, and looking for something different to read, I stumbled upon this book; what a great find. The quality of the writing, the story, the adventure and suspense are all amazing from a new unknown author. The chapters alternate between two different time frames, a style that took a little time to get comfortable with but by the 6th chapter I was likeing the concept. There's horror and some gore but it is not meaningless, or over the top. There's action and suspense throughout. The characters are extremely well done, I often felt personally involved in the situations with fear, anger, and is easy to get wrapped up in the fast passed drama. This story is not the typical horror, zombie blood and guts one might expect from the genre. It is deep, complex, exciting and full of intrigue. It is well worth the five bucks; actually,I just bought but haven't started book two - The Tilian Effect - hoping it is a good as this one.

    Overall good job.

Well written: plot, dialogue, pacing all well done. With better research on firearms would have rated 5 stars. Glocks with safeties, semi-automatic machine guns, 1 man portable .50 calibre machine guns, etc. 30 minutes on Wikipedia would be time well spent on future efforts.
