    History Major and Military Officer

Fabulous!!! Packed with information - a great teaching tool for my children (ages 8 and 10). Comprehensive study of all inhabited continents. A must have for anyone interested in history or teaching their children.

    Beautiful interesting thought provoking

This is is an adaptation of an 1890 Victorian chart. It is of British origin and therefore Anglo centric point of view also tries to tie in the historical time frames of the 'Bible' as thought of at the time in harmony with science. It does a good job of covering the impact of events to the modern world and seems to be updated regularly. Mainly it is whimsically illustrated and fun for a history buff...or those with a light interest.

    ALERT

This "Timechart" is a Biblical, Christian Creationist wall chart and has not been advertised as such. I am Buddhist and, like others who have made this same order mistake, am offended. If this is your belief system, it is a beautiful teaching aide, but B&N needs to market it as a biblical history item and not let customers dicover this only upon delivery.

    Timechart History of the World

I purchased this very large book for a project as it was recommended by someone who had used it. The fold out history of the world is full and some printing is small but it is easy to follow.

    Nicely Done...However

As with a set of encyclopedias, time goes on where reference books soon become outdated. Nevertheless, this is a good coffee table book.

    Informative but confusing

Very, very confusing. The text is extremely small, and the whole thing is just deluged with pictures and text, which makes it difficult to ascertain which caption goes with which picture.

What an insulting omission of Africa's role in the developing of our world

As a person of African descent, I was absolutely floored by the ignorance of history in the development of this tome. From the religious perspective from which this history was derived, is so flawed. Africa, at one time, was the cradle of civilization. However, as usual certain historians seem to feel that if this flawed kind of rhetoric is repeated enough, it will seem to become the truth. However, the truth will always be known by someone and no matter how long these untruths are promoted someone will question their validity.
