Editorial Reviews

From Barnes & Noble

"and in the morning/they shook their pillows/violently, hoping/all the dreams they lost/that night would tumble out...." With magic words like these, Joseph Gordon-Levitt and his creative crew weave together their tiny books of tiny stories, "half short story collection, half communal poem." In this third collection, imaginations run wonderfully rampant. (P.S. The author is an online phenom. If he weren't so modest, he would brag about his two million plus Twitter followers.)

Austin Chronicle
Dive into its shortest of short stories and relish its captivating illustrations, and soon enough you’ll realize: Even if you’re not physically carrying the book, you’re carrying its stories with you throughout your days . . . [an] itty bitty bound book with a big ol’ heart.
LA Weekly
“Told with haiku-like precision.”
Philadelphia City Paper
“From the department of Perfect Hipster Stocking Stuffers . . . Buy it for your brooding-artist cousin, but then selfishly decide to keep it for yourself.”
New York Times
“Not just a coup for [hitRECord.org] but also an object lesson in how it works.”
Entertainment Weekly
“A brand new collection of moving (and funny!) stories from the hitRECord family and It Books.”
Philadelphia Inquirer
“A handsome hardbound book full of wit, whimsy, and a little wisdom.”
Tampa Bay Books Examiner
“Fascinating . . . A wonderful little book . . . highly recommend[ed] to anyone who loves ingenuity, irony and beauty.”-

Simple and eloquent. The book is an aggregation of imagination, like a box of assorted chocolates. The texts and images compliment/contract each other so well, that it starts to emerge as a third type of rhetoric of story telling. Recommended, whole-heatedly.
