Editorial Reviews

Children's Literature - Dr. Judy Rowen
The Titanic looms large in the public imagination, appearing in movies and a Broadway musical. This book is a factual account of the disaster, augmented by the author's suggestion of what the victims might have said or thought. Despite foreknowledge of the conclusion, it is a gripping tale, with clashing egos, heroism, cowardice, and examples of bravery and true love. A center section contains photographs of the crew, the ship and the wreckage. Diagrams of the ship appear at the end, as well as a short section discussing the fate of some of the people mentioned by name in the text.

    Not Bad

Well-written and held my interest, but nothing spectacular in the telling. Not much different than everything else I've read on the Titanic. Guess I expected some more in-depth perspectives on those aboard, so I was a little disappointed. Still not a bad read.

    OK.......

The book is ok so far. I read the sample and it had facts but the author used the words like awesome and then i figured out that it was a childrens book that is probably useless for an 8th grader.

Great writeing and the book is very gripping. But I have been a Titanic nerd for like a year and I am smart enough to know that this book has some of its facts wrong. Like when it is talking about life boat number 6 it didn't even talk about Molly Brown and it said that the man in charge of Lifeboat number 6 got his way. (Witch means they didn't go back for survivors). But otherwise I loved this book. Two and a half stars if I could give an exzact rating. I recomend this book to a person who is bored and wants something new to read.
