The Titus 2 Woman [NOOK Book]

Overview

Finding women who have been trained to be Titus 2 women has gotten harder and harder in today’s world. This type of woman is truly becoming an endangered species! It’s a sad fact, but modern churches are just not teaching the “aged women” to become Titus 2 mentors and women just are not stepping up to mentor the younger women in the church.

This is part of the reason I think so many of the young women in today’s church are floundering and turning away from Godly womanhood. They are just not being taught how to be Godly women. Too many churches today are pushing a twisted form of womanhood that has more in common with feminism and worldly standards than Godly standards. It is truly a sad state!

Just what traits does the Bible say a Godly woman should posses? Titus 2: 3-5 lays these traits out to us in a simple and plain way.

The aged women likewise, that [they be] in behavior as becometh holiness, not false accusers, not given to much wine, teachers of good things; That they may teach the young women to be sober, to love their husbands, to love their children, [To be] discreet, chaste, keepers at home, good, obedient to their own husbands, that the word of God be not blasphemed. — Titus 2:3-5(KJV)

When you look at these verses, you can plainly see that what God requires from a Godly woman. “The Titus 2 Woman” by Susan Godfrey, dissect these eleven qualities to help us understand exactly what is expected of us as we grow and mature as Christians.

    The Titus 2 Woman

The Titus 2 Woman is an easy to read and understand book designed to equip women to fulfill their roles as a Titus 2 mentor. I have come to find out personally that there are a lot of Christian women in the world today that long to have a Titus 2 type mentor in their lives. Maybe you're ready to begin mentoring the younger women God has placed in your life but aren't sure how to get started. Reading The Titus 2 Woman is a great place to get started, along with prayer and reading God's word of course.

    more from this reviewer

    a good resource for devotions.

The Titus 2 Woman: Learning to be a Godly woman by Susan Godfrey is a great place for Christian women to start in their study of Titus 2:3-5. As Susan points out."Finding women who have been trained to be Titus 2 women has gotten harder and harder in today's world." Its good to see new resources available that guide us back to God's Word as to the gift of being a Godly wife and mother.

The Titus 2 Woman is broken down into short chapters that capture each of the areas that are addressed in Titus 2:3-5.Behaving as a Godly woman, Honest and Gossip Free, Nothing in Excess, Teacher of Good Things, Sober Temperament, Love Your Husband, Love Your Children, Be Discreet, Pure of Mind, Keepers of the Home, and Virtuous Living.

Susan breaks each characteristic into simple, understandable bites that are filled with excellent Scripture references and concise explanations. Titus 2 Woman would be a nice resource to use as a guide to finding and studying the many Scripture references that Susan graciously provides for each characteristic. It would be a good place to start for reflection during quiet time devotions.

Susan challenges us to not only work on having these characteristics in our own lives but to help and encourage our daughters and younger women in the faith to work on them as well. As a Christian wife and mother who grew up in a family that was more egalitarian, I know how much these Titus 2 Mentors mean to me in my own life.

I received this book free from the author. I was not required to write a positive review. The opinions I have expressed are my own. I am disclosing this in accordance with the Federal Trade Commission's 16 CFR, Part 255: "Guides Concerning the Use of Endorsements and Testimonials in Advertising."

A must read book for every Christian woman!

The Titus 2 Woman is a fabulously written book that breaks down the characteristics that a Godly woman should have in Titus 2 and explains how to work towards each of the characteristics in an easy-to-read format. The book is a very easy, enjoyable read and will give you much to work toward. I think the book would make a fabulous devotional as well. Read through the entire book and then take one chapter (characteristic) each month, looking up other scriptures in the Bible that talk about that characteristic and focusing on allowing God to mold that area of your life. I highly recommend The Titus 2 Woman!

What does God want a woman to be like? Read this book to find out.

The Titus 2 Woman book is a book that should be read by every girl and woman who considers them selves to be a Christian. Susan Godfrey explains in detail each characteristic of what a Godly woman really is. In modern times the older women no longer teach Godly traits to the younger women. This book while not a perfect substitute for a Godly older mentor, is a good help to ladies both young and old who would like to be more of the women that God intended them to be.
