One of the first books my father got me interested in was Tom Swift, I started reading the series at 11 and that was how he got me interested in reading. An incredible way to get a youngster interested in reading. brought me back to a fascinating time.

Decades after finding this old Tom Swift stories tucked away in the basement of our local library, I was thrilled to discover this set. Oh, the memories. Just plain pure fun to revisit Tom in this original series. As a young teen in the sixties these were more fun to read than the current Tom Swift stories. Sure, they were written for a different time and a different audience, but it's a kick to think how these stories must have resonated with a young audience who saw this as all new science based fiction. Treat yourself to some well spent hours of early 1900's nostalgia.

These books are wonderful for homeschooling, but they are difficult and expensive to find in ptint. Both my girls like the stories and it is easier to get them to read. Tom Swift is a great role model and the stories start excellent investigations into electricity, aeronautics, and other fields of applied physics or engineering.
