Highly recommended reading for all black people, for real!

I believe that even if you don't agree with some of the stuff that is written in this book, you WILL learn some things that you did not know if you read it. Glad I purchased it, and will reference it from time to time for sure, just like I do with the book The 48 Laws of Power.

Great read and learning opportunity for African-Americans and black people in general....

I learned a lot from this book! When I opened the cover I didn't expect to learn as much as I did, but there were lots of short stories and quotes and points of view that I found to be extremely astute and witty, to say the least. Can't say enough good things about this book. Each chapter was pertinent. Buy it and read it for yourself!

A Must Read for anyone who truly wants to GROW in life!

I myself haven't been THIS excited about a book in a long time!
(and I'm an avid reader...)
Upon seeing the book title, I instantly felt what many other African- Americans (and black people in general) MIGHT have felt; which was "offended".
I mean; "The Top 25 Things Black Folks Do That We Need To Stop"....????
That sounded borderline racist to me at first.
But I am SO HAPPY that I didn't let that keep me from purchasing the book and reading it cover to cover anyway....
Because if anything,...this turned out to be a POSITIVE book, a book about GROWTH and even about HEALING. The author's genuine wish for African-Americans to live better, more positive, productive, self-loving and valuable lives in a society that is STILL burdened by both overt and covert racism, is really burning on these pages. The tone is respectful and caring.....
This was not at all a negative book, meant to come down on a people as a whole,...it was an inspiring book, filled with truths and facts.
Yes, some of those truths and facts might make a (black) person feel very offended or at the least uncomfortable...but when one is able and willing to move beyond his/her own ego,...this book is nothing but a very welcome "LEARNING EXPERIENCE".
One that, especially in these times, should be valued accordingly...I think.

HERE is the opportunity for personal as well as collective GROWTH and I honestly hope that people won't shy away or ignore it simply because they might take it as an insult upon introduction.

Compliments and Respect to the author, who was BOLD and ORIGINAL enough to take what he saw happening in this country, dived into it, researched it and eventually produced this "priceless" book!!!

MOST RELEVANT AND TIMELY BOOK PUBLISHED FOR AFRICAN-AMERICANS

Now since the inauguration of our first black president, it is prime time for black folk to begin to do some serious reflection and self-inspection. We African-Americans have indeed not done as much as we could to become as free and as proper-acting as we can under the circumstances, and that TOO must CHANGE. This book points out some specific things that need to be done in order to bring about this necessary change, and I applaud the authors for publishing this, especially right now. I would hope that many African-Americans read this book and learn from it and put the ideas it promotes into action. God knows it's needed, as we have been the most miseducated, self-destructive, dependant, and abused race of people on the planet Earth for a long, long time. THE TIME FOR REAL CHANGE IS NOW!

Wow!!!!! About time somebody had the gall to write something like this!!

I got this book as soon as it came out and since reading it all I can say is KUDOS KUDOS KUDOS to the authors. EVERY SINGLE AFRICAN-AMERICAN/BLACK PERSON SHOULD READ THIS BOOK, SEVERAL TIMES EVEN. So much truth, knowledge, facts, and understanding that some may not be ready for but others are starving to hear, but that everyone can learn something from. At first glance it may seem that this book "puts down" black folk, but when you read it you see that the intent is to do the exact opposite; to uplift and teach black folk the REAL. A must have and must read!
