"The Torrent from My Soul is sometimes a search for bliss ...
Sometimes a letting-go of heartbreaks ...
Sometimes, acceptance of changes ...
Sometimes a quest for True Love and sometimes Love itself ...
The Torrent from My Soul is yet sometimes not a torrent, but a stagnant pond, where when you look in, you can see the reflections of a born dreamer or when you toss a pebble, you can see the ripples that ebb ...
And as you sail in this Torrent, you can see most of what I held all these years ..."
The sensitive poems in this book are indeed Poems of a Born Dreamer.
Sana Rose is 22 years old and studying to be a Homoeopathic Physician in Kerala, India. "I wanted to prove that there is still a group of young people who are bonded to reading, to writing and to books and literature. Poetry is God's gift. I thank the Almighty for that tool He gave me." She has already completed her next book of poetry.

While reading The Torrent From My Soul by Sana Rose, I found a delightful array of poetry. She exposes a spectrum of feelings straight from her heart, plainly spoken and with undisguised honesty. Throughout her poetry she skillfully chooses rhymes that fit her intended meaning and which add to their significance. Her poems read with an easy rhythmic movement. She also interweaves many nature images throughout which is evident from the titles of some poems, "The Leaves of Fall", "Monsoon Blues" and "The Happy Sparrows". Other titles, "Laboratory of Love", "Time and Truth", "An Ode to God" and "Emptinesses in Equilibrium" show her comfort with the abstract. Still other titles: "Touch", "Let Your Skin Talk With Hers", "Hark to the Lark" and "My Lips" invite the reader to enjoy the textures of the human senses.
There is a progression from the beginning to the end of the book. Beginning poems deal with the realities of living and loving revealing the transitoriness and unreliability of earthy human life, but gradually the tone shifts to insure that there is much to hope for, dream for, and the promise of a happy future.
What kind of poet is Sana Rose? Her own words from "Poetry Is You" answer that best.
Poetry was just a passion,
But then poetry was my life...
And then poetry was difference,
So my life was difference...
And I was an artist of difference
How different is her poetry? In the same poem, she writes
Poetry overflowed as the rivulets,
Rose as the sun and danced as the grasses,
Blew as the wind and rejoiced as my soul,
Beat as my heart and gushed as my breath....
In her poems the reader will find much that "soothes/The heart that yearns".
One technique that Sana Rose uses very effectively is repetition as found in "Those Times We Had".
The stones we threw,
The ripples we made,
The stories we told,
The songs we sang,
The pictures we drew,
The dreams we saw,
The sands we walked,
The times we passed,
Are all gone far
Away to memories...
In admitting her sadness and loneliness, at the same time, she inspires a positivity - a longing for more of life and love - a passion not to be bound up uselessly but controlled and directed toward a future good beyond all earthly barriers. As she so beautifully phrases this in "A Frolic-less Spring Day, "But the spring isn't just for a day,".
I like poetry that sets a mood, that stirs up deeper feelings within, that challenges my thinking, and that welcomes me into another person's world of feelings and experiences. I think Sana Rosa's poetry does all those things.
