Excellent guitar learning resource book

This excellent book aimed at learning the acoustic guitar provides finger exercises to help in stretching, especially the little finger; warming up regimens; strumming basics and rhythms; various acoustic styles like finger picking; various sample songs in different keys and much more.

I appreciate the music theory and tips on changing chords. The pentatonic scale is explained as well as major keys, minor keys, 5th's, 7ths, etc. Explanations are provided as to playing technique, such as: hammer-on's; pull-off's; rhythm progressions; alternating bass strumming; and advanced picking techniques.

The book is over 120 pages in length and nearly every page is packed with drawings of chords, scales and tables. A nice touch is the CD enclosed with audio examples of exercises and music listed in the book. There are about 105 audio tracks on this one cd.

I have been playing for nearly six months now and still have a way to go before I reach the end of the book. It is a nice reference to refer back to topics I have learned but would like to review.

List price is $19.95 which I feel is an excellent value for such a wealth of material.
