Meet the Author

John Frank is an accomplished poet as well as an author of humorous stories. His 2001 picture book The Tomb of the Boy King was proclaimed "a mesmerizing epic poem" by Publishers Weekly, and his most recent title, A Chill in the Air, was published by Simon & Schuster in fall 2003. He hangs his hat in Kirkland, Washington.

Zachary Pullen's witty, character-oriented illustrations have been featured in Sports Illustrated, the New York Times Book Review, and the Wall Street Journal. He hails from beneath the big skies of Wyoming — a fact clearly evident in these paintings — and currently lives in upstate New York with his wife, Renate. This is his first picture book.

Awesome illustrations and funny story all kids will love!

This story is not the ordinary wild west story. It has a wonderful twist that will get everyone laughing. The illustrations are detailed and bring the story to life.

My children (ages 6 and 8) absolutely adored this story! Both say it's the best -- and funniest -- book they've ever read!

Another Great One by Mr. Frank!

This book is delightful. Each time you read it you find something new. The story is very engaging. It's full of humor and clever play on words. I highly recommend it as a read-aloud or for fluent elementary age readers to read on their own.
