"A Triumph of My Soul" is a collection of beautiful stories that tells the goodness of our Lord and Savior. He has been a blessing to each individual that was faced with obstacles and adversity. Even at their lowest point, God has made a way out of no way, and that makes him so awesome. With just a little faith as big as a mustard seed you can overcome and prosper. This novel is a wonderful testament to how God works in our life no matter what the circumstance is. These short stories are inspiring and will bring joy to your heart, a peace of mind, and tears to your eyes. All 17 anecdotes were very enjoyable and I commend the talented authors who contributed to make this novel come to life. Some of us can relate to the situations or know someone who has been through the pain and suffering but has made a breakthrough with prayer and praise. I highly recommend this book. It will make your walk with God even closer and individuals who don't have a relationship with him would want to get to know how the most high died for our sins. God is good all the time, and all the time God is good. Reviewed by: Tange

The trials and tribulation that God allows us to traverse says a lot about challenges and change. We are broken on purpose to have the wherewithal and ability to keep our heads to the sky, and know that if there's a will there's a way. TRIUMPH OF MY SOUL by Elissa Gabrielle is the first of several books in a series that will give voice to human conditions that cater to the angst and adversity that color our spiritual Diaspora as people of color. These are inspiring stories of victory over adversity, and the ability to know the difference between living vertically vs. horizontally. The Triumph of My Soul ably delivers poignant testimonies with heartfelt stories of love, hope, faith, redemption and inspiration. With this firmly in mind, the authors therein presented in this anthology spoke with heart-felt vigor and preservation of mind opening their souls to succeed beyond and despite the 'brokenness'. These are their stories, and in the midst of the storms, there's courage, faith, and wisdom to call upon He who strengthens us. You get a chance to read each entity and perhaps rejoice knowing that 'this too shall pass'. Author Elissa Gabrielle assembled a worthy crew of writers to expound on these ideals of hurt and pain illustrating personal vistas in discovering solutions and applications. Albeit, not all of the stories in this set are created equal. There are a few that weren't as strong as others which are typical of anthologies of this nature where balance may not be in the offering. In this case though, nothing is taken away from the overall tone of success that I render. How far must one travel to know that a new lease on life is eminent, or there's a saving Grace in adhering to that still small voice? I found ardent answers as I read each story and imagined how I could be the recipient of His loving embrace! The authors bearing their souls are some that I'm familiar with, and others that are cutting their literary teeth for the first time. The emotions and struggles seemed up front and personal. I can hark to the stories that touched me most. To wit: Jessica Tilles' 'Julian's Grace' showed how one can go beyond living for the moment to enable a deeper value of an innate love beyond the surface. It's a gut-wrenching love story that demands your attention my favorite by Allison Deese - 'Discovering the Joy Within' is the story of how a teen-aged mother rallied against the forces of nature to triumph over an abusive lover, and how examples were shown to give credence for perseverance. Then there are stories depicting adolescence where maturity materializes in the end for new leases on life, and where the downtrodden can realize how victory can be won by exhibiting due diligence. In times like these we need shining examples of inspired triumph in the face of adversity, and this collection of short stories are yours to revel and rectify ways to ease issues that may be definitive in helping rather than hurting. This is the benefit of the empathy that compelled me to put my feet in the shoes of the authors that bared their souls. If this is the mettle that Ms Gabrielle adheres to, then the subsequent books that will be part of her lore will give notice that she is a force to be reckoned with. Grab this book, read it, and know that there's a silver lining behind every dark cloud! Kudos to you Elissa for bring this coterie of writers together to share what it means to do what it takes to be winners!

I read half of The Triumph of My Soul on Christmas day, starting with Julian's Grace by Jessica Tilles and was moved at that time, because on Christmas Day, I lost someone very dear to me. I moved through more stories, and ended up on A Test of Faith by Lorraine Elzia, and loved it. Fon James story was so sad, and I cried for a long time, because, I too, lost a child. Kesha's story A Stroke of Purpose was truly a good story because I loved how the mother and daughter came together and this happens all the time in families. The Vanilla Room is a very sad story, how the character worked herself into a frenzy, which can easily happen with women being mothers, sisters, daughters, caregivers, etc, and was so happy when she got it together. The stories by the male contributors were powerful, like Mr. Okoro's. Elissa's story, which closed the book, reminded me of so many horrible stories I've read about children, but the ending was full of hope, and inspiration and will let another person know that they too can overcome. I plan to pick this book up again and again to read the stories and gain something from them. The book was a Christmas gift to me, and it was one of the best gifts I've received. I sincerely loved the book.

If you're lucky enough, you'll get through the first story with minimal tears, but by the time you hit the last page, you will definitely be reassured that God is still on His throne and know without a doubt that He never left. Though heartbreak, struggle, hurt and pain exist in the pages of Triumph, it's evident that putting your ALL in God's hand will lead you to better understanding for your life...Triumph will lead you back to Christ before you close the back cover. Great read!

I had to write to you because I purchased the new book, 'Triumph' I didn't know what to expect, I just heard about it, so I wanted to read it. I read books all of the time, from Christian to just regular fiction to self help and even anthologies. I have never read a book full of authors in which the stories stand alone and the book is about the stories. A lot of times the book is about the author. From the first story to the last, I was like, oh my goodness, this stuff is really serious. Reading the book, made me go to the web site to see these authors face and learn more about them. The story that stayed with me most was the one When you least expect and Word on the Street because I was expecting to read neither one of them. This book is so unique that I can't even put words to it. The stories make you cry and some of them made me laugh and get excited when the time came in the story when people were getting ready to meet God and learn of his power. Are you doing something like this again? Oh yea the cover is so nice. It is beautiful. And i love the back cover. this is definitely a keep sake. Thanks for this work. Shauna

Word On The Street is that The Triumph of My Soul is a must read anthology that tells the story, not only of, One Woman's Journey, Julian's Grace, or A Mother, Her Son, and The Father, but many stories that speak to one's mind while providing spiritual nourishment for one's soul. While reading this anthology Doors will open to your soul When You Least Expect It. So many things can happen so fast in one's life and yes, life can feel like a Marathon, but you're not in this race alone. If you're a young mother allow God to deliver unto you The Ministry of Motherhood as you endure A Test of Faith along this journey. Allow the 'old' you to experience Death At a Church as your soul is Discovering The Joy Within. While Breaking The Chains of Abuse, you can proudly proclaim, 'I'm Still Here!' No matter what you go through, confinement in The Vanilla Room or A Stroke of Purpose, realize that He Loves Us, Always. There's a story in this anthology for everyone, no matter your trial or tribulations, with God you can triumph. The story that touched closest to home for me was 'The Ministry of Motherhood.' Being a teen mom I admire the author, Cheryl Donovan for giving testament that success, personal fulfillment, and triumph are still possible for young mothers. And as Linda Wattley said, He Loves Us Always. These stories left me with tears in my eyes and a smile on my face because in every story God showed up and He showed out! Their words spoke to my mind and caressed my soul. I don't care who you are or what your personal testimony may be, God is there for you and only He can judge you. I congratulate Elissa and all the authors for writing stories that WILL make a difference in the lives of others. When God is merciful and kind unto you, He expects no less than for you to share his love with another human being. And that is especially expressed in Elissa's short story, The Triumph of My Soul. Buy this book today and reflect on your own personal triumph!
