The Truth About Numbnuts and Chubbs is the first book in the NYC Confidential series by Cat Kelly. I did this a bit backwards. I read the second book before I read this one and enjoyed it. Therefore, when I came across this I had to read it. This book was better than I expected.

Ben created a billion-dollar business after he turned in his bad boy rep. He is a smart and creative man who has everything he wants until he meets up with Bryony. She is the one person who does not fall at his feet. She is also the person his grandmother kept telling him he would snap up. Bryony is fun and quick-witted. She is able to put up with Ben in a way no one else seems able too.

The chemistry between Ben and Bryony is sizzling hot. These two are made for each other. The only problem is neither wants to admit it to the other. The sex scenes were hot and spicy.

I would have liked a longer ending on this story. It was a bit too short for my taste. While this book is part of a series, it can be read and enjoyed as a standalone novel. Overall, at 115 pages this was a wonderful and funny story. I liked this one more than the second book it the series. I cannot wait to see what the third book in the series has in store.

    Cute

I bought this because I had read another freebie by this author. Have to say wasn't as dark/serious as the first but was really enjoyable. A good author that I would read again.

Okay so I bought this because the title intrigued me.  This is a funny, sexy contemporary romance.  Ben & Bryony met sixteen years ago at their cousins wedding.  He was a groomsman and she was in the bridal party thus forcing them together.  He was a scrappy 17 year old and she was a chubby 13.  Now he is a wildly successful business man and she is starting over as an accountant at a new to her firm.  When they meet again they are drawn together despite their differences.  Can the man who has sworn never to marry get together with the woman who has sworn never to settle?
Funny, sexy, sweet all the things a good romance should have.  I got a kick out of these two strong characters.

Loved the characters.  Pretty hot sex scenes.  Probably should have only given it 4 stars because it is very short for five bucks.  Still great though.
