Overview

Aeon, creator, and lord of the universe, has brought forth all things into existence. The universe is one with Aeon, but his presence on the physical plain would cause the universe to fold in upon itself, destroying everything. Looming deep in stasis sleep, his essence remains ever present, while he himself remains ever absent.

Our Union, is the assembly of the children of Aeon, tasked with keeping the balance throughout the universe. They are the invisible watchers who become embroiled in their own internal war. The collective is shattered when one of them is slain. Sides are taken, and the entire universe hangs in the balance of the outcome.

Merridia, lies at the center of the universe. Corvus the first of the lower beings was blessed by Thutmos to rule there as chieftain of the gods. Ages have passed and the Merridians have only grown stronger. Black Dawn, the son of Corvus is haunted by visions of a great calamity that threatens Merridia. In defiance of his father orders, he sets off to meet the threat head on. Will he quiet the storm, or shall it be his undoing?

Scicremeon, always thirsting for blood, is driven only by her want to avenge the death of a father she never knew. Even in the face of a god hell bent on her destruction, she stands defiant until the last breath. In her wake, she leaves behind only rivers of blood. Yet, the love of a young boy teachers her that killers too can be kind.

Titans clash as bonds are broken and new alliances are formed, while a brewing storm could wash away the fabric of what once was, forming it anew in a sea of darkness where no light may shine.

Compelling, suspenseful, insanely gripping, and packed with unforgettable characters, The Twelve is space fantasy that packs a real punch.

Editorial Reviews

21st Annual Self-Published Book Awards - Judge Writer's Digest
The writing crackles with suspense and excitement, and tells a fascinating story that lends itself well to the SF/fantasy genre. The crosscutting of scenes and shifting between viewpoints is cinematic in nature, and so this book would lend itself quite well to being filmed commercially. The cast of characters, especially Scicremeon as she emerges to become the primary protagonist, are, individually and collectively, certainly strong enough to command center stage throughout the novel.

Meet the Author

De’Quan Foster was born on the 16th day of August in 1994. He began writing the Danger Kids series when he was eleven, on May 19, 2006. As a child, Foster was bullied and made fun of for his appearance and some of the interests he had. Some of those interests included the Star Wars films, Marvel and DC comics – their movie adaptations, and the Harry Potter book series. He drew inspiration from these interests and soon began developing the Danger Kids. The Twelve is his first published work.

A.S. Washington was born on the 19th day of September in 1983. He graduated from Temple University with a degree in Economics, and lives in New Jersey where he works with at-risk teenagers. As a boy he fell in love with books and began writing his own stories. In December of 2011, his debut novel, The Virgin Surgeon was published. In the summer of 2012, his first collection of poetry, The Musings of My Epic Mind was published. The Twelve is his third published work.

This story is just amazing right up from the start. I felt like I was there every step of the way, fighting with Scicremeon and Aton as they went on an amazing adventure. Scicremeon is by far my favorite character, standing up to gods and titans with her sword and bad girl attitude. Another heroin kicking butt and taking names yeah! I read this in one sitting and the ending was so amazing. Lots of action. Can't wait for the next installment of the Danger Kids Universe.

The Twelve was a fantastic read. I'm waiting to see how this story will progress. The first chapter had a lot of information, and though it was essential to the story, it was a lot to absorb. The pace does pick up quite a bit once you get to chapter three. There are a handful of twists and turns that keep you on the edge of your seat. A must read!

The Twelve is simply put, Astounding! From the moment you crack

The Twelve is simply put, Astounding! From the moment you crack open the first page to the very end, the story engulfs you in its magic! The moment you step into this colossal world your immediately drawn to its vast expanses and captivating scenery. Its not just the world itself that envelops your imagination and curiosity, right from the start the unique set of individuals in this fable contribute to its success. You can see, hear, taste, and even feel what each and every character goes through, as if you were standing in the middle of it all! The way each of these extraordinary character came about into the story left an astonishing presence every single time in my mind. The Mighty Aeon, Thutmos the most favored, tiny Aton, and Van Taven the hapless magician caught in the middle of Scicremeon's bloodlust, each character brings forth something new and exhilarating to this preternatural world. A.S. Washington and De' quan Foster have brought forth an influx of new possibilities to the world of heroes . Look out Marvel, Capcom and D.C. the Danger Kids Universe is here and is bringing about a new and compelling Era!

I believe this on of the most amazing novels I've read in a long time. This fantasy novel has a bunch of twist and turns that keeps the reader on the edge. You'll fall in love with the characters just as I did. My personal favorite was Scicremeon, her story is amazing and you get to see her change throughout the book. She had guts and will fight anything. LITERATELY! I can't wait until the next book comes out. DANGER KIDS UNIVERSE!

Well written and excellent pacing. Just when you're waiting for some action, it hits you like boom. And every time I had a question it was answered in the next paragraph or the next page. Can't wait for the follow up to this. The ending seemed to promise something else to come.

This was really a good book and I don't want to spoil it for anyone. But these guys really don't have a problem with killing characters even if it's your favorite one. I really hated this book for that but it was soooooooo!!!! goood!!! I read it twice.
