Miller, Russell Davis, and John Helfers- continue the Sterling legacy, with the saga of two rival families struggling for dominance in the middle ground between light and shadow, between science and superstition…in the Twilight Zone.

It is the year 2159, and much like today, mankind has seen radical advancements and horrifying setbacks in the past 150+ years. Earth has become even more urbanized, but with 28.5 billion people on the planet, there are new problems to find solutions for. Crime and overpopulation are major concerns, but the biggest problem facing the planet is the overtaxed environment, which is ozone-depleted and defrosted, even North America. Ultraviolet alerts are common, and the average temperature rose several degrees before being brought under control, also causing occasional flooding problems in the lower areas of New York City, which has been built up to protect it from the ocean. On New Year's Day, 2159, Mason Noir (III), looking exactly as he did in the year 2002, receives a message from his technicians: they are ready to begin "the procedure."
