MAY 2025 - AudioFile

Narrator Rachel Leblang brings to life two romance stories in this audiobook. In the first, Skye asks her neighbor, Ford, to help deter a potential boyfriend. In the process of getting to know each other, they adopt two dogs together. Skye's twin sister is staying with her, and Leblang provides contrasting voices that match each sister's personality. At first, Ford and Skye are wary of each other, but they soon grow close, and Leblang deftly conveys this. In the second story, Lydia persuades Remington, whom she's had a crush on since childhood, to adopt his late father's dog. Remington had a bad relationship with his father, and Leblang expresses his reluctance to adopt the dog, as well as his general anger at his dad. Listeners looking for a couple of quick stories will find Leblang's performance fits the bill. S.B. © AudioFile 2025, Portland, Maine
