This was a very good book and it helped me find a monologue for my final in drama. This book would be good for mature middle school students or high school students.

I teach acting to high school students and I cannot stress enough how much of a help this book has been. As you can imagine, it is hard to keep teenagers' attention on monologues, especially if they feel they cannot relate to the material because it is too dated for them. What has been wonderful about using this book is that my students have really been enjoying the process and picking pieces that give them a voice. On top of that, it helps that the monologues are short so that I can get to many students during each class. This was an excellent purchase for me and I thought I should let others know!

I think the ultimate audiition book for teens was a great book because it had all different kinds of ways where you can try your acting skills. For example, there are monologues in it for happy, sad, horror, funny, and much, much more. It also tought me how to act and express myself while I was still having fun.

I think this has to be the best monologue book for teens that I have ever read. There are so many incredible monologues to choose from. You cannot go wrong if you buy this book. I'd give it 10 stars if that was an option! Thank God someone finally wrote good monologues for actors under 25!

The thing that is so great about this book is that the monologues sound like teenagers, not older people trying to sound like teens. The comedy monologues are really funny and I could totally relate to the dramatic ones. Most books usually only have about 30-60 monologues. Since this one has 111, I found so many that I can use! I think if you are an actor in your teens or even early to mid 20's you will find some great monologues in this book to audition with!

Hello everyone if you want the best books to teach monologues Janet Milstein has them all. All her books are the best. I own an acting and modeling school in Atlanta Georgia and after several years of trying to find books I came across all of hers and I have to tell you She knows what she is doing. There isn't many books for children that are as exceptional as these.

I use this book for my acting class every quarter. It's the best monologue book for teens I have found and I have read them all. Ms. Milstein's writing is funny and touching and sounds like real teens. She is also a teacher so she has written a lot for her students and my students relate to the pieces instantly. These monologues are all one-minute and true-to-age (with a few older ones included toward the back of each section)so I have found them useful for 1) auditions for agents 2)monologue showcases/school talent shows 3) monologue competitions 4) introduction to auditioning with monologues 5) school auditions. Because she wrote the monologues for her students to perform for agents and managers in NY and LA, they are not from plays but the majority have gotten her students signed, cast and they are agent-recommended. Also, they are fairly easy to memorize and to fit audition slots as they seem to keep getting shorter these days. I saw that Ms. Milstein published two new monologue books (recommended below) and I bought them both. They are all comedy, very funny, and mostly female which is great for class as I have many more female students than male. I highly recommend this book and her Winners Competition Series.

I've looked everywhere to find a good monologue for myself and when I saw what Janet (my acting coach) had, I was amazed. The monologues are so simple yet so perfect. I've seen these monologues fit ages between 10 and 40. By far the only monologue book you'll ever need to buy, seriously. Monologues are arranged nicely by age groups and genders. Perfect for any audition! Buy this book and save yourself tons of time and energy! Nice job Janet. Awesome monologues!
