All Music Guide - Stephen Thomas Erlewine
Functioning as something of a replacement for the 2001 collection Their Greatest Hits: The Record, The Ultimate Bee Gees covers much of the same ground as that double-disc set, albeit in not quite so linear a fashion. The Record marched through its 40 tracks chronologically, opening with the stately baroque Beatlesque pop of the '60s and then winding through the '70s, whereas this opens with the bright, fabulous blast of "You Should Be Dancing" and remains in their late-'70s heyday for a while before fast-forwarding to such latter-day adult contemporary hits as "One." We don't get to "I've Gotta Get a Message to You" and "I Started a Joke" until halfway through ...

The Record marched through its 40 tracks chronologically, opening with the stately baroque Beatlesque pop of the '60s and then winding through the '70s, whereas this opens with the bright, fabulous blast of "You Should Be Dancing" and remains in their late-'70s heyday for a while before fast-forwarding to such latter-day adult contemporary hits as "One." We don't get to "I've Gotta Get a Message to You" and "I Started a Joke" until halfway through the second disc, and this jumbled, almost haphazard sequencing is a little disconcerting since it appears to follow no true rhyme or reason. Nevertheless, scattershot is still plenty entertaining when the music is as good as this, and this does have all the Bee Gees' big hits, plus live versions of songs they gave to others, so it's a good, swift way to get all this stuff at once -- at least for those who don't already have The Record or some other Bee Gees hits collection. [A two-CD/one-DVD edition was also released.]

    Bee Gees Legacy Continues

If you want to have another greatest hits or best of compilation album by the Bee Gees, this is the one you want to add to your collection. After 50 years, the Bee Gees is still going strong. Their music still sounds bigger and better. The DVD looks better, but I wish they would add some more music videos that was left out. For example

    1. Don't Forget to Remember
    2. Words
    3. I Started A Joke
    4. Run to Me
    5. Tragedy
    6. Fanny (Be Tender With My Love)
    7. He's A Liar
    8. Bodyguard
    9. ESP
    10. Holiday
    11. Nights On Broadway
    12. Love You Inside Out
    13. World
    14. The Woman In You

I am very excited to have order this cd/dvd package!! I grew up

I am very excited to have order this cd/dvd package!! I grew up listening to the "BeeGees Greatest Hits" from 1970! Mom had always been playing the album! With much excitement  we took our neighbours to see them in 1979 on their "Spirits Having Flown" tour! Man,I was blown away! Sadly,For awhile I drifted away! I recently reconnected with band when they did the "One NIght Only" concert and "The By Request" and now Barry Gibb's "Mythology Tour." It saddens me to know that Barry has outlived his two brothers and partners in music for so long! (not discluding his youngest brother Andy)..I just had to pick up a copy of The Bee Gees Greatest ! After 50 years this music still makes me smile and maybe even some tears! Its great to be able to own this on cd and have a dvd because this band will always be a part of me!! Thank you,Barnes and Noble for carrying this masterpiece! It can't get here fast enough!!!!
