Kirsten Badham is a parrot lover and Eclectus specialist. She has spent over a decade keeping, breeding and working with companion Eclectus and has devoted much of her life to caring for and understanding these beautiful parrots.
Kirsten has extensively researched the behavioural traits, mannerisms and temperament of this enigmatic species. She continues to study their dietary requirements, hormone fluctuations, breeding, health, incubation, hand raising, psychological requirements and developmental patterns. Her knowledge and understanding of the species enables her to assist people from around the world care for these amazing parrots.
Kirsten has enjoyed success breeding Eclectus in a communal setting with a strong focus on providing her breeding pairs with an abundance of mental stimulus. She has also written articles for the Australian Bird Keeper, Parrots Magazine and the Parrots Society of Australia.
Kirsten and her husband, Jason, recently chose to retire their breeding parrots. Their focus is to help educate owners and better the lives of parrots everywhere. With one reference book completed, they are currently working on to the next manuscript.
