Overview

Understanding the Dreams You Dream: Biblical Keys for Hearing God's Voice in the Night not only provides insight into your dreams and life, but also includes a comprehensive dictionary of dream symbols!

You will be guided through the complex world of dreams by a minister with decades of experience receiving, understanding, and interpreting dreams of his own and for others.

Through Scripture-based meditation, much can be understood about your dreams; but many Christians don't know how to meditate. This problem is addressed in three different ways:

Specific, detailed directions are given on how and upon what to meditate.

  • Personal examples of dreams from the author's own experiences.
  • Practical dictionary of symbol definitions is included.

This book presents both normal and not-so-normal dream situations. You will learn that to apply only one type of dream interpretation to all dreams is restricting each symbol to only one possible definition, which is incorrect. And you will learn how to tell the difference between a dream from God-and those from evil sources.

Reviewed by Alice D. for Readers Favorite Ira Milligan who has served
God since 1962 writes "The Master's Voice: A Practical Guide to
Personal Ministry" for the deeply devoted Christian who is ready to
minister to others. He admonishes the reader to only do "what God
specifically moves you to do" (page 25) and advises that a prophet
does have the gift of prophecy but does much more than that. Author
Milligan offers sensible counselling throughout this book such as using
common sense and privacy when speaking the word of God to someone. That
there are false prophets out in the world is something that the author
understands all too well. He counsels the reader to be beware of
covetousness, of using God's gifts for personal gain, of witchcraft
which would manipulate and control someone's life, and of hypocrisy
which pretends that the information imparted is from God when it is
definitely not. Author Milligan strongly urges the reader to judge a
prophecy's authenticity and to fully cooperate and participate if a
prophecy is from God. On page 108, Author Milligan stresses that
"Without faith and full cooperation from those who receive them,
many prophecies will not come to pass even if they are issued straight
from the throne of God." "The Master's Voice" offers
many, many suggestions for the devoted reader who is ready to serve God
as a prophet. The author writes well and seriously and cites numerous
Biblical stories as evidence for what he writes. He also advises on page
60 about how to go about beginning life as a prophet: "When
properly supervised by mature leaders, small groups provide a safe haven
for many people to learn how to minister in spiritual gifts and then
grow in the grace of the Lord Jesus Christ." "The Master's
Voice" is a great book for the serious Christian believer.

As one who has been a dreamer all my life and as a minister othe

As one who has been a dreamer all my life and as a minister others seek out to interpret their dreams, I have read and consulted a lot of dream books. The Ultimate Guide to Understanding the Dreams You Dream, Biblical Keys for Hearing God’s Voice in the Night, is different. This book presents expanded biblical perspective for interpretation. Of course there are other books that use the Bible as the basis for dream interpretation, but none I have read that are as biblically thorough and biblically extensive as this one. It truly lives up to its name as “The Ultimate Guide.”

The understanding of dreams gained from studying the material in this book also brings additional enlightened understanding of scripture which is exciting and delightful for those who study the Word regularly.

The chapters and sections are manageable as study and exploration go. Not too much to grasp or relate to all at once and not too much to chart to aid dream interpretation. In fact, the author does an excellent job of outlining systems that cut categories of dream symbolism down to size so they can be easily remembered and applied because they make sense according to our everyday lives. More than charts to memorize, this book presents systems to use and explanations instead of charts.

The tone of the book is very lighthearted and conversational even humorous which makes the heavy subject matter easier to digest. It not only teaches the basic precepts of dream interpretation, it also enables revelation and understanding when there needs to be action. I experienced an anointing on this book that increased my memory of my dreams, my consciousness in my dreams, as well as interpretation and revelation flowing from my dreams. I was more than impressed.

As God pours out His Spirit and dreams and visions are increasing, this text is also quite timely for the perfecting of the saints and to prepare the way of the Lord’s second coming. It makes interpretation and revelation of dreams much more accessible for the saints since dreams are a major way God speaks to us. It allows us to use cultural experiences to make sense of our dreams as well as the Bible. In other words, the systematic premises and principles posited just make sense.

I am going to purchase a paper copy for quicker, easier access.

A Guide to Understanding and Interpreting Dreams

“The Ultimate Guide to Understanding the Dreams You Dream” is written to carefully guide the reader through the complex world of dreams. Author Ira Milligan maintains that in these end times God uses dreams to: • Encourage and direct Christians in their walk with Him – Getting direction • Warn sinners to repent • Provide guidance to the Church • Reveal divine information and knowledge The subtitle of the book “Biblical Keys for Hearing God’s Voice in the Night” suggests that the reader should consider the importance of recognizing the difference between a dream and a “night vision.” Milligan also suggests that reader began a dream journal as the first step in learning to interpret your dreams. The book is divided into two parts: Part One helps the reader understand the common use of the dream in God’s communication with His people. This includes insights into interpreting symbols, understanding Bible numerology, and finding answers through colors. Milligan also discusses how all the creatures of creation, modes of transportation, and metals play a part in dream interpretation. I found the chapters that included rules to follow, and answers to frequently asked questions especially interesting and helpful. Part Two provides a comprehensive Key Word Dictionary of Dream Symbols with Scriptural Illustrations. This section is a very practical tool for reference, research, and application. “The Ultimate Guide to Understanding the Dreams You Dream” is an authoritative guide book for individual Christians, those involved in Inner Healing and Spiritual Warfare ministries, as well as for clergy and lay ministers. A complimentary copy of this book was provided for review purposes. The opinions expressed are my own. As Reviewed for Midwest Book Review
