    Cool Fun Science

    I love this book!

I began reading this book and time traveled back to all the rainy days and summer hours we kids spent shooting water missiles, making kitchen concoctions and other cool experiments. I had plenty of work to do, but the kid in me kept turning the pages as more fun experiments were shown.

The "Why it works" and "Bizarre Facts" are as addictive as corn chips and salsa and now I wish we had this book back then, or at least had a mad scientists around to tell us why things pop, freeze, go slimy, produce psychedelic lava, crackle, fizz, explode or levitate.

There is solid science behind it (my background is in physics) but thankfully its never textbooky, just rolled into a ton of fun that
anybody would want to experience. My old favorite Saturday afternoon experiment is on page 42, the performance of which mystified my school friends in just the right way.

As a parent and teacher, I give this book six stars.
