The solving techniques are explained and easy to follow. The challenges are very rewarding when completed. I try to get through the puzzles without mistakes, but that rarely happens. The book is small enough to make it easy to carry. I take it with me everywhere (restaurants and doctor or dentist offices) and when there is a wait, try to make progress on my current puzzle. I even take it to bed to work on before finally dozing off. I am not fond of puzzles that are too easy to solve, and I also don't like the puzzles that are so hard you can't solve them at all. This book of puzzles is in that in-between area that makes it just right.

This is one of those rare Sudoku compilations that contain the more complex 25 number grids. Sometimes it is nice just to become totally immersed in the game.

Puzzles are difficult, but not super-difficult. What I like about this book is its format. One puzzle per page... lots of space to place possibilities.

These sudokus are not particularly hard although a little time consuming because some of them do require you to fill in grid numbers. Many of them can be worked without ever having to do so though. The puzzles are not rated according to any difficulty level. Easy, good for memory work and just killing time. I gave it a 2 rating because it is called the "ultimate" and says it contains difficult puzzles, but it does not.

Medium level of difficulty at best. Nice size and good quakity paper. Frank Longo Sudoku series is much better and black belt is very challenging.

I bought this book when my daughter was expecting her first baby. I wanted something to do while sitting in the waiting room on delivery day ... something that would make the time go by quickly. This did the trick. The puzzles are challenging. They seem to intersperse slightly easier ones with the more difficult ones ... I suppose so you don't get too frustrated. But even the easiest are a higher level of challenge than what I had been used to in the daily paper. The baby is now one month old and I have stopped doing the Sudoku in the daily paper altogether, and am instead working through the puzzles in this book, one a day. I haven't gotten to the last section of the book yet, that has some sort of extended Sudoku puzzles ... but I will. I'm plugging away.

Although the puzzles seemed challenging and not the usual 3x3 format, unless I wanted to create my own blank sheets on a larger piece of paper, I couldn't work them. The boxes are incredibly tiny, and it wasn't worth it for me to make my own blanks.

This book was fun. Usually I skip to the back of the book on the easy to hard puzzles. Then when the most challenging turn out to be easy I feel I figure the book is good only for waiting rooms or restaurants where you meet friends who are not very punctual. This book is different. If you know how to do Sudoku and want a challenge, this is a good book to get.

This book claims to have 'the toughest puzzles' and it delivers. Of course, a few you get in a snap, but many keep you working. I highly recommend this to those who enjoy a challenge.
