    I really enjoyed this Omnibus.

I normally read naval fiction from authors such as Patrick O'Brian , so naturally after awhile I wanted a change of pace. While browsing the science fiction shelves I saw a whole row of Warhammer novels. I recognized the name from the computer game I played the heck out of called Dawn of War. So I grabbed a couple of the books on the spot, this one and the Blood Angel Omnibus. I read the Blood Angels omnibus first, and was instantly drawn into the Warhammer Universe. These books are explicit in their violence, that doesn't bother me as I am a horror movie junkie, those with weak stomachs should be wary though. With that said; the Ultramarines Onmibus is focused on one character in particular, Uriel Ventris. The one thing I found captivating about this character is he would never quit, no matter how bad the odds were stacked against him and his fellow Ultramarines. The last book in this compilation really nails that point well. having been abducted by demons he finds himself stranded on a world full of Demons and Chaos Space Marines. What does he do? He decides to Storm their Fortress with just him and his Sergeant Pasanius.
All while the Chaos Space marines are battling each other in a siege.I found the characters here had a lot more personality that in the Blood Angels omnibus. I highly suggest reading this one first. It is quite the read. There are three novels in it.

Just finished reading the complete book. This book definitely has somewhat of a classic hero story, in the main character Uriel Ventris. The third story Dead Sky, Black Sun, was my favorite and is a bit darker than Nightbringer and Warriors of Ultramar. I was invested enough in the characters, to go out and purchase the second Ultramarines Omnibus.I look forward to Captain Ventris and Sargent Pasanius' next adventures.

    I Also Recommend:

Want action? This is for you.

This was a simply written book that had non-stop action and several interesting characters. Not that complex but well written and a fun read.

    Could not put it down

The characters are fantastic. The author brings them to life and you feel as if you are there with them. The struggles, the fear, the heroism are incredible. I had such a hard time putting this book down and now that I'm finished with it....well, thank goodness a fourth just came out.
