    Marvel Masterworks Uncanncy X-menVol. 1!

Marvel Masterworks Uncanncy X-Men Volume 1 is a great read! This Marvel Mastworks reprints Giant-Size X-men#1, Uncanny X-Men#94-100! This book is great because the comics themselves are too expensive to purchase now. Chris Claremont is a great writer and Dave Crockum is a great artist! This is the X-Men creative team that re-energized the X-Men back in 1975! The ALL NEW,ALL DIFFERENT X-MEN make their first appearance in this book! Banshee, Storm,Sunfire,Wolverine,Thunderbird, Nightcrawler, and Colosus make the first appearnce in Giant-Size X-Men #1! Highly Recommended! A

Great Alternative to the Hardcover Masterworks series

This is a great way to enjoy these classic stories without breaking your wallet purchasing the $50 Hardcover versions. I just hope B&N keeps on making more paperback volumes. Seeing the stories in full color and on glossy paper is a lot more fun than in B&W and newspaper quality paper the Essentials line offers.

    Awesome collection for the non-obsessive

You know, I love old comic books - I've spent many hours going through my dad's considerable collection of back issues from the 1960s and 1970s. But I hesitate to do it very often, mainly because I don't want to affect their value by flipping through the pages and, well, READING them as they were meant to be enjoyed. Which brings me to this spectacular collection of stories introducing the 'new' X-Men of the 1970s. For starters, my dad never was a big X-Men fan, so I've consequently never had the chance to read these earlier stories. At $12.95 for seven big comics printed on glorious glossy paper, this is an absolute bargain and much more usable than brittle old newsprint will ever be. My only gripe is that there aren't more of these kind of collections available, but I suspect that will change given the popularity of these editions. As Stan might say, MORE MASTERWORKS, MARVEL! Make me more mellow!
