This book is full of surprises!
Casey Wyatt has a way of making me step out and try stories I would normally never pick up. I'll be honest, I never read science fiction and I'm not much into vampires, but as I became sucked into her latest release, I forgot all about my reading habits and could only focus on the story at hand.
Casey's writing is wonderful and well thought out. The story moves fast and the pages fly by. Cherry and Ian are adorable, and I love his accent.
There were hints for another story to take place on both Earth and Mars, and I am especially intrigued to learn more about Cherry's brother....
Well done!

Vampires on Mars, what else do you really need to know? This is Casey Wyatt's second book after last year's Mystic Ink. It's a perfect mix of paranormal and romance. Cherry starts out on Earth as a vampire stripper when she is blamed for murdering the vampire queen. Never rescue a rogue vampire, even if he's as hot and sinful as Ian McDevitt. Now it seems everyone wants to kill her, but where can she hide? Choices, choices...maybe die colonizing Mars or permanently die when the vampire community catches up to her. Ian doesn't sparkle but the sex between him and Cherry is incandescent!

Off-the-wall, fun to read Vampire story.
Casey Wyatt keeps readers entertained with feisty, colorful characters and lots of conflict. Written in first person, this vampire story, centers around Cherry Cordial, a stripper at Fang Bang, and handsome rouge vampire, Ian. When the Cherry and Ian are framed for murdering the Queen by her devious daughter and successor, Cherry is burdened with saving their race from extinction. They escape Earth in a newfangled spaceship headed for Mars. There, with Ian’s help, Cherry must make life livable in a barren landscape. Naturally, the couple fall in love, which complicates matters when the Queen’s daughter tracks them and send troops to Mars to kill them all. I loved reading this book and was sorry when it ended.
The Undead Space Initiative combines a mish-mash of elements into an intriguing story that starts out on Earth but then takes us on a rollercoaster ride to the planet Mars where vampires, zombies, and revenants learn to live as a new society. Throw in a bitter royal bent on murder and you have a story that has you on the edge of your seat just when you think a HEA has been achieved.
Cherry is a stripper who's on the run after being accused of murdering the Queen who placed a bracelet on her wrist before dying that will change the future of the vampires and the other paranormal creatures that take off for Mars. After her sire gives his life for her and the rest of their family, she's left as head of the family and ultimately the head of this new colony. As a woman struggling with feelings of inadequacy after losing her sire it's a struggle being in charge. She not only has these personal issues but there's a traitor amidst their group that's trying to kill her. Luckily there's sexy rogue vampire hunter Ian to watch her back, when he's not flirting with her. After a lifetime of negative experiences with men, trust towards Ian doesn't come easily for her. With the unexplained changes occurring to those on the planet as the runes point to a history no one ever knew of, the bond between her and Ian explodes and feelings that they never expected to feel blossom into several steamy encounters. She's ultimately no wilting flower and when called upon was reminiscent of Xena, warrior princess.
Ian's been on his own after his pre- and post-vampire families were killed. He and other rogues have joined this unique expedition which changes his life in numerous ways. Before he knows it, mystical forces have designated he and Cherry as a new Adam and Eve where long-held vampiric beliefs evolve into something unexpected that will change their lives forever. Ian is perfect for Cherry in that he lets her be in charge and gives her recommendations only in private so others don't question her authority. He always thinks of ways to make her happy and these acts of love brought a tear to my eye. It was easy to fall in love with him considering his numerous charms, and sexy body!
The flow of this story was nicely balanced with only one section that I felt dragged a bit. The action sequences were heart pounding and crept up on me when I least expected them. There were a slew of memorable secondary characters that I would love to see more of with the hints of intriguing background stories that were casually mentioned. The balance between the mystical and paranormal was beautifully done to keep things believable and the storyline moving briskly along. Throw in some truly sexy sexual interludes and you have everything a romance reader could want.

Vampires on Mars. What more can I say! Vampire Stripper, Cherry Cordial
(I love that name) finds herself shipped off to Mars together with the
very sexy and hot Ian McDevitt. the dialog is on the money, and the
romance ... well ... you'll have to read the book. Trust me on this one
... I loved this book. Had me from page one!
The Undead Space Initiative is a well-crafted, captivating paranormal romance. Once again Casey Wyatt demonstrates her talent for writing as she weaves a tale with a new twist on the paranormal . . . vampires on mars. Not only does she redefine the persona of vampires, but also has you revising your slant on revenants and zombies. The story was riveting from beginning to end and I couldn’t put it down until I finished.
The chemistry between the sinfully hot Ian and the sexy Cherry Cordial is electric and the sex sizzling. Their characters were engaging, and it wasn’t long before I was pulled me into the twists and turns of their story. This is a fast-paced, enthralling novel and one you don't want to miss. It's a definite must read for all readers, whether you’re into the paranormal or not. I highly recommend it. You won’t be disappointed.
