“H.P. Mallory has a quick wit, a fresh voice, and a clever way with words. If you like Charlaine Harris, you’ll love H.P. Mallory!” ~ Larissa Ione, New York Times Bestselling Author

If you like your books steamy (this is an adult fantasy romance, not for kids or teens!) and you aren’t easily offended by potty-mouthed, crass guardian angels, read on!

THE UNDERGROUND CITY is the second book in the Lily Harper series. The first book is BETTER OFF DEAD and is currently a FREE download!

The Underground City:
Abandon Hope, All Ye Who Enter Here…

Lily Harper narrowly survived her first mission as a Soul Retriever in the first level of the Underground City. After that harrowing trip, she wants nothing more than some down-time, but as with most things involving the afterlife, nothing ever quite works out the way Lily wants it to.

Her newest mission will see her traveling to the sewer aqueduct of the Underground City and later, the prison. But, luckily for Lily, she’s got the hunky yet antisocial bladesmith, Tallis Black, by her side. And quite possibly unluckily for her, she’s also got her guardian angel, Bill, who’s up to his old, foul-mouthed antics.

Between learning how to wield her sword, personal training with a hot-headed demon, traveling to the Underground City not one but two times and discovering that the leader of the Underground City harbors a curious fascination with her, Lily’s hope was abandoned a long time ago.

Loved the first book and bought this one without checking to see how long it was…not very.  Wish I had paid attention and waited for next book in the series since there's usually background from the previous book.  Still, a good read.

    Ended before its time.

Ive enjoyed all thenother series by H.P. Mallory. The Lily Harper series are slowly growing on me. There just doesnt seem to be enough story. If some of Bill the guardian angel's incessant drivel would be skimmed back a bit the book would only be a few chapters. I understand he's supposed to be annoying (and cornball funny - not so funny) but it seems he has more page time then the leading character, Lily. Just as the story was getting rolling it abruptly ended. It was far too short, and I felt unfulfilled at the end. Hoping the next in the series provides more page time for Tallis and Lily story and a little less Bill.

    O Terrell

At just 126 pages, this I consider a pamplet, not a book. It would appear that the trend in ebooks is to take a reguler book and sell it by chapters.

    Quick Read

I do enjoy this series although I do feel like this book was really short! It was hard to put it down though and I finished it in a few hours. I love all H.P. books just wish the second book was a little longer! Can't wait for the third book in this series and the Sinjin Spinoff book next month! Thanks H.P.!

    Love HP!

Love HP Mallory, but starring to feel cheated. I understand the need for a "cliffhanger," however, there was nothing to this book! I love the Lily Harper story and will read the next book. Please give us alittle more next time!!!

Well, I love HP Mallory. The Lilly Harper series is different in a good way. I like the fact the Tallis is still him, but without the heavy wording
on his accent. I love Bill and his pesty brotherly love. Lily has become more assured. What was an enjoyable surprise in this book was
the  new addition of character of Alaire. My only complaint was that it was too short It ended on a strong cliffhanger and I only hope Ms.
Mallory gets the 3rd book out soon. Otherwise I would have given it 5 stars.

    Good series

It was a great series, but wish i could read another series. I read the first Lily Harper series, and it was great, then ive read this one, but as soon i read the end, it made me wish for a third installment of the series. The characters are great, especially Bill, he crack me up, as for Lily and Tallis, i kinda wish they would be a couple, cause at the end, she doesnt want to be in love with him, and then he just left all the sudden. Still i wish there would be a third one, so if H.P Mallory was there, please write another.

    Wow

Lily is in for it now. Tallis throws her for a loop, Bill is being Bill, and Adaire is on the prowl. Cliff hanger ending has me chomping at the bit for book 3. H.P. Mallory proves again her talent with the written word in this exciting and funny book.
