Based on newspaper accounts, interviews, Regents’ meetings minutes, and the authors’ personal recollections, the book traces the metamorphosis of the University of Oklahoma College of Medicine and Health Sciences Center from an enterprise dedicated solely to scholarship and education into a multi-million-dollar medical and research complex.

About the Author

Mark Allen Everett is the son of Mark R. Everett and Alice Allen Everett, author of the two previous volumes of Medical Education in Oklahoma. He was Chair of the Department of Dermatology (1963-1977), Interim Chair of Pathology (1980-1985), Chair of the Faculty Board (1974-1990), and is currently Director of the Oklahoma Dermato-pathology Laboratory.

Howard Dean Everett, his son, is the former Education Director for the Oklahoma Department of Human Services and currently serves as Executive Director of Chamber Music in Oklahoma.
