She has spent many family vacations in New England, and studied English at Boston University and dance at Harvard University. She is a travel editor at a national magazine. Mitch Kaplan, who wrote the New York chapter, has been covering adventure and family travel for more than ten years, with a special interest in skiing. The author of 52 New Jersey Weekends, 535 Wonderful Things to Do This Weekend, and The Unofficial Guide to the Mid-Atlantic with Kids, he has Contributed to numerous national publications. Kaplan, a father of two, lives in suburban New Jersey.
