In response to another review - I myself had to download it twice. As for the contents - it's just disappointing. This is just a sample so I suppose if you buy the whole thing that might be better, but this isn't worth the time it takes to download. The recipes are ones you can find anywhere and are related to Harry Potter in the weakest sense of the word. For example, instead of say, cauldron cakes, or something like that, one of the recipes is mashed potatoes. These aren't Harry Potter food originals. These are everyday foods mentioned in the novels. If J.K. Rowling mentioned bread, a recipe for bread is what you'd get in this book, and in fact, there is one.

I am not a Harry Potter fan, but money is tight enough that I can't be picky about my reading materials; it was free, so I tried it.
I was pleasantly surprised. The recipes are easy to follow and the Potter references are light enough that I wasn't entirely baffled. The foods are classic English Holiday foods, and I liked the little bit of back history.
I would recommend this book to anyone who is interested in learning how to make these types of foods, regardless of the pop culture hook. Well written and straightforward.

I don't know about this free download but the cook book is great! We had Harry Potter dinner night before we went to see part one, the stew was wonderful! I have made it many times since the first night and my family loves it. My son had lots of fun looking up the stories in his books to go along with the recipes in the cook book. I would highly recommend this book to all Harry chefs!

I am a fan, but find most of the recipes to be very English. I don't mean that in a bad way, but if you aren't a fan of the blander English style foods, then this book isn't for you. It would be fun for a party, but you'll have to decide if it's worth the price. I archived it because I wasn't going to use the recipes anytime soon.

The free download is only part of the book and only contains a few recipes, nothing to get worked up about.

disappointing at best. I am not a fan of downloading previews. Nonetheless, what I did read didn't inspire me to want to buy the rest.

Don't bother downloading this. I was very disappointed. Boring pumpkin pie, rhubarb crumble, Irish soda bread?!? 22 pages of cranberry sauce, glazed carrots, brussel sprouts, gravy, mashed potatoes, and ROAST TURKEY! This is not the fare found in the Three Broomsticks or in Hogshead. Barnes and Noble...don't waste my time.

This has absolutely nothing to do with Harry Potter and makes no attempt to even try to relate to Harry Potter at all. The recipes are simple and lame who wants a recipe for mashed potatoes, or glazed carrots?!?! It may be free but it's not worth cluttering up your library
