Overview

With close to 100,000 copies in print, few would argue with the success of The Unofficial LEGO Builder's Guide. Capitalizing on the success of the original, this revised second edition still chronicles the various techniques that fans use to build their LEGO creations, but this time everything is in color. Readers learn how to build sturdy walls and a basic sphere, work with the different scale modeling (from mini to macro), use good design techniques, and even get tips on the best ways to sort and store their LEGO pieces. Readers of the first edition will love the highly-rendered models in this one and that's sure to make this book a great holiday gift.

Author Allan Bedford starts readers from knowing little more than that there are Legos up to the principles of building high-level concepts of all types (his examples include everything from tiny cottages to the Space Shuttle). He talks about everything from how to arrange and overlap blocks to maintain structural stability, how to plan size ratios of your sculptures, how to handle mosaics, and how to create larger projects. It’s fascinating to look through. If you’re a would-be serious Lego designer, this book is absolutely essential to your library. Oh, included in the book is a “Brickopedia” which lists every Lego brick made, and all the specifics.
