Editorial Reviews

Children's Literature - Toni Jourdan
Aliens are the little green men or maybe the grey skinned, big eyed “men” from other planets. Have they traveled millions of miles to Earth to study us? Have they scooped up unwilling humans to perform experiments on us so they can learn about us or maybe to take over our planet? All over the world, thousands of people have claimed to have witnessed the bright lights of a spaceship, but some have even claimed that they have been aboard these spaceships where aliens put them through experiments before erasing their memories and placing them back into cars and homes. These people all have the same experience of lost time. Barney and Betty Hill were two such people; they claimed to have been abducted. Through hypnosis they were able to piece out their lost time frame only to be ridiculed by skeptics. Do aliens really exist or are these stories coming from active imaginations? No solid proof has been accounted for and we only have the stories of the thousands of people that have experienced this event since 1950. Colorful pictures of aliens and humanoids grace the pages of this short overview of alien abductions. New words like abduct and hypnotize are explained in the glossary. Internet sites and other reading materials allow for continued research by the reader. The book gives such a broad overview that it only barely touches the theme. Nevertheless, the whole idea makes the reader think. Reviewer: Toni Jourdan; Ages 7 to 9.
