Editorial Reviews

Children's Literature - Greg M. Romaneck
The Navy SEALS represent one of the special forces organizations in the world. Navy SEALS endure perhaps the most demanding entry training of any military personnel in the world. This training is so demanding that the vast majority of potential Navy SEALS end up dropping out prior to its completion. Navy SEALS have undertaken numerous overt and covert operations, many of which are never publicized. One example of such a mission that did achieve international attention was the assassination of Osama Bin Laden in PakistanIn this volume of the illustrated "American Special OPS" series, Besel describes the SEALS. Designed to provide readers with not only information but insights into military service as a potential vocation, this series features data rich content, numerous colorful illustrations, and an idiosyncratic text and formatting approach. Embedded in the pages of this book is a wealth of knowledge about what Navy SEALS do, how they are trained and real life missions they have undertaken. This approach will appeal to readers interested in military life but may well limit this book's appeal to a niche audience. Reviewer: Greg M. Romaneck
