Editorial Reviews

Children's Literature
AGERANGE: Ages 9 to adult.

This book is divided into three sections: a beginning section with hints about paper and folding techniques, an origami section with 13 projects, and a paper projects section with eight projects. The beginning section includes a key to symbols used in the book as a reference along with hints for correctly folding the paper for the best results. Types of paper are briefly discussed and photographs of paper samples are provided. Both project sections include directions that specify the type of paper that works best for each individual project and includes step-by-step illustrations about how to create the project. In the origami section, the projects progressively increase in difficulty. The paper projects section includes projects that are not as detailed as the origami projects, but use cutting in addition to simple folding. The extra-thick cover, sturdy pages, and spiral binding make this book easy to use while creating projects. A table of contents and index help the reader locate activities quickly. This is a great addition to any craft collection for schools, after-school clubs, and church groups. Reviewer: Barbara Wheatley
