Overview

Evil never dies. . . .

After escaping the horrors of the Dark Dimension, Elena and her friends can’t wait to attend Dalcrest College, the beautiful ivy-covered campus where Elena’s parents met. Life with Stefan is better than ever, and with her closest friends Bonnie, Meredith, and Matt by her side, Elena knows it will be their best year yet. Even Damon seems genuinely changed and is getting along with everyone.

But for Elena, moving away from Fell’s Church doesn’t mean she has left her dark past behind. When students start to disappear from campus, every new acquaintance is suddenly a potential enemy. Panic soon spreads and the friends struggle to protect each other.

Then Elena uncovers a long-hidden secret, one that shocks her to the core, and realizes tragedy may be unavoidable. Will Elena outrun her fate? And will it be Stefan or Damon who catches her if she falls?

Editorial Reviews

Children's Literature - Alicia Jensen
After years of fighting the dark forces threatening her and her friends throughout high school, Elena Gilbert is finally leaving Fells Church, VA and headed off to college. Rooming with her two best friends Bonnie and Meredith, who also happen to be a witch and a hunter; Elena can't wait to start her new life at Dalcrest. Elena's boyfriend Stefan Salvatore, and his brooding brother Damon, are also coming to Dalcrest with her, which makes things extremely confusing since Elena has such strong feeling for Damon as well as Stefan. Just when Elena thinks that things can't get any more confusing between her and the Salvatore brothers, suddenly there are mysterious disappearances and gruesome deaths around campus and Elena is convinced something dark and mystical is behind them. For any teens that love paranormal novels, then this is the perfect book with a great blend of romance, mystery, and the paranormal that will leave readers dying to sink their teeth into the next book. Regardless of if it was written by someone else everyone should give this series a chance. The books are still amazing and the writer is working hard to continue the series. So please give it a chance instead of complaining about the fact it's a different author.

Rose was so caught up with Jacob that she almost didn't remember self control. Rose was a beautiful girl. Long thick glossy chesnut hair halfway down her back, big chocolate brown eyes, long dark eyelashes and very light tan skin. Pregnant too. And was happy up until the day before. Her boyfriend Jacob stuck around long enough for 7 months of her pregnancy before deciding that being a father was an interference with football and his life in general. Her hormones drove her wild with passion and she moved in with Jacob so he could satisfy her needs. She strode around his huge apartment naked tempting him for more. Now she was alone. But she had hope. A really cute guy named Liam would do anything to have sex with her. Now she called him. "Liam, i need you to come over." Rose had a plan. When he got there, she would be in her bra and panties. The doorbell rang a few minutes later. "Want to have sex?" He asked. Rose pulled off her underwear and bra. He got naked too. Rose pressed herself against the wall and did a move that always felt good to her and looked sexy. She slid into a squat and made her pubic area pucker. She let Liam eat her out. Then she suggested this: "move in with me and you will see me naked everyday, and help me have a sexy birth."

Just having to give this one star hurts me. As long as this is not written by L. J. Smith and her wonderful writing and ideas, I will nevr buy the books.

I just read a review. It was quite heart breaking. And the wrighter of the review is correct. Many (most) readers are very loyal to the author and might stop reading the books. Lj should be able to wright whatever or do whatever she wants!!!!!!

I have the other books in physical form, this was the first i had purchased via nook color. I am a huge fan. With the differences between the book and the series its almost like two different stories. I was a little upset with the ending and where Elena was with both Damon and Stefan, but i wamt divulge any details. Still a very good read.
