Meet the Author

Jennifer Malone Wright resides in the beautiful mountains of northern Idaho with her husband and five children. Between the craziness of taking care of her children, whose ages range from fourteen all the way down to six months, and being a homemaker, Jennifer has little time left for herself. The time she does have left, usually leading far into the night, is spent working on freelance work or her beloved fiction.

When she grew up, Jennifer always had her nose in a book. She has been writing stories and poems since grade school. This love of the written word and her strong interest in the paranormal is what has led to her first novel "The Birth of Jaiden."

In addition to being a mother and homemaker, Jennifer is also a very proud military wife. Moving around the country for the last ten years has made her a bit of a nomad and she finds it difficult to be in one place for too long.

"The Birth of Jaiden" is only the beginning of novel writing for Jennifer; she has many more stories which are just waiting to be written.

    Great series :)

I absolutely love this series so far. Chloe is thrust into a world she never thought existed and comes out fighting like a champ! The adventure that has now become her life is an ever present force in her success in developing her gifts. The author has a way of hooking you from page one and keeping you addicted throughout the whole series. I can't wait to read the 4th installment to continue following Chloe in her quest for revenge. I recommend this series to all who love a good vampire/hunter story :)

I was given this book in return for an honest review. Meet Chloe

I was given this book in return for an honest review. Meet Chloe, she is a normal teen, at least that's what she thinks. She finds out, after her mothers murder, that she is actually the child of a vampire hunter and a vampire. She has the powers of both parents and a teen temper to match. She goes to live in the vampire community with her grandfather and a boy named Drew. She trains to develop her powers and fighting abilities. The vampire community is attacked and her grandfather is injured and she realizes that the attacks won't stop until her father gets what her wants. Her. This is the first 3 stories in the series and you will want the rest as soon as you finish this.

Well-written, fast-paced and entertaining. Welcome to the world

Well-written, fast-paced and entertaining. Welcome to the world of Chloe Kallistrate. She's always known she was different, but she's had no idea just how different she really is! Chloe watches in horror as intruders break in and kill her mother in spite of amazing battle skills she never knew her mother had. She's sure she will be next when a second band of intruders break in and rescue her. The first wave were Vampires. The second wave were Vampire Hunters.
We join Chloe as she embarks on a journey of discovery. She meets a Grandfather she has never known, she joins a community and finally finds somewhere to belong. She finds outs truths about herself that help her to finally make sense of her life. Yet all of this is threatened by the father she has never known.
While this series probably resonates with teens and young adults, I think it is entertaining for anyone who enjoys a twist on coming of age stories and/or vampire genre stories. There's always more to keep me coming back!

Episodic YA paranormal series works well, leaves the reader want

Episodic YA paranormal series works well, leaves the reader wanting more.

An episodic young adult series, Jennifer Malone Wright’s The Vampire Hunter’s Daughter centers on a teenager who witnesses her mother’s murder then finds herself thrust into a world of vampire hunters, surrounded by strangers willing to give up their lives just to save hers. Chloe Kallistrate learns answers to questions of her mother’s past, but the mystery of her father remains cloudy and filled with anger and betrayal. Daughter of a hunter, destined for great power, surrounded by relatives she never knew, Chloe still has to continue her high school education while learning warrior skills and swearing vengeance on her mother’s murderers. But is everything really as clearcut as it seems?

The first three parts of this series are combined in a collectors’ edition, leading from the well-drawn shock of first attack to Chloe’s discovery of powers and skills—and boyfriends. The story moves quickly with plenty of excitement, interesting hints of mystery, and nicely human characters. Reading more like TV episodes than complete novellas or novellettes, the series certainly keeps the reader's interest and looks set to build to an exciting young adult novel, with Part four adding darkness and lonely determination to the mix. I’m looking forward to parts five and six.

Disclosure: I was given free ecopies of parts 1 to 4 by the author in exchange for my honest review.
