Overview

Levi is a vampire, villain and tragedy, a monster made rather than born. He was only a teen when another vampire went rogue and turned him. He's obsessed with his first victim, Jared, who survived the attack.

Jared is in love with his best friend, Jordan, and has been for years. Jordan feels the same—but it's too late. Jared pushes him away, believing Jordan's in danger.

Jordan is crushed until he discovers Jared's hiding something from him. Something that's killing him. And in the meantime, Levi's growing stronger every day, drawing Jared in against his will.

About the Author

Theda Black writes about men in love with other men, but she's not your usual LGBT romance writer. She's into edgy situations, intense relationships, passionate events and no safety nets. She explores the emotional and sometimes physical limits of her characters, particularly involving what they can and will endure for the sake of love. Often that involves darker storylines than normal.

Theda lives near the Great Smoky Mountains with her husband and two daughters, very close to where she was born. Her stories are usually set in the South, around or near the mountains. She's been writing and drawing and generally making things up to suit herself for years, and hopes to keep doing so for many more.

"The best thing about this story is, in an interesting way, Theda managed to make a coming of age story mix well with that supernatural suspense. She also doesn't stray from the use of drugs and alcohol, which many teens get wrapped in with. The love the two boys have for each other is very real and very intense, being best friends first and then realizing that there is something more. It's very sweet, but also very sad."
