This book gives a great overview of all aspects of animal rights and welfare issues: entertainment like circuses, animal testing like cosmetics and cleaners, animals for clothing like fur and leather, and food production and factory farming. This is the best book I've read on the topic, and that covers each one of these issues in one source. If you are thinking of becoming vegan or want to learn more about how animals are used in innatural ways, this is the best book to start with.

As a new vegan starting out, I was delighted to discover this book. 'The Vegan Sourcebook' has so brilliantly addressed many issues I was previously ignorant of, and it was hugely rewarding to be enlightened. The spirit of compassion and kindness is so abundant throughout this comprehensive resource, of which there is also highly detailed and interesting information and practical advice for vegan concerns. If you want to learn about veganism, THIS is the book!

The Vegan Sourcebook, is by far the most interesting, inspiring, and impacting book i've ever read. I think everyone should read this book. It's important for us to understand the inhumane treatment of animals and to know that there is an alternative way of living, a healthier, spiritual, and moral lifestyle.

I have read The Vegan Sourcebook and I can honestly say it's the best book for any vegan. It gives great tasting recipies and informes old and new vegans about vegan history, vegan and nonvegan ingredients, essential vitamens-how much is needed- and other ways to get them, and much much more. I recomend this book to new and old vegans.
